My experience with women all the way back from when I was a teenager is that women clearly appear to be happier, more energetic, more infatuated and just generally seem to be better off in a dating situation when they're the ones doing most of the pursuing.

This could mean stuff like:

She usually is the one who initiates conversations with you over text/messenger.

Outside of the "Risky" situations (asking for first date, going for first kiss etc), she will take a lot of responsibility for the progress of your relationship - planning future dates, talking about your future etc.

Even when it comes to the stuff you have to initiate - she seems to enjoy everything far more after she's expended a lot of effort trying to get you to do it. For instance - if you meet a girl in real life and ask her out very quickly (once you establish some chemistry) she may say yes - but won't be as enthusiastic as she'll be if she's spent a lot of time sending clear signals of interest, or has mysteriously shown up at events where you are and then you finally ask her out.

I've seen many women claim that men like to chase, or prefer women who play hard to get - but this seems more like projection to me than anything else. I don't know any men who have ever admitted to liking this. Yet I've talked to many women who openly admit that they like it when they're not sure if they have a guy or not. They want to feel like they "caught" him.

So women of PPD - how does this line up with your experience? Do you prefer to chase or be chased?
