Women often have not had their choice of mate, or their choice of mate has been constrained (by their family for example)
There are aspects of masculinity that are appealing in a man to other men that women either don't care about as much (at least they do not care about these traits in themselves, but they do like the fruits) or do not care for as strongly (look at the kind of male body that men consider masculine and the male body that women consider masculine, there have been differences)
Women on the whole don't actually prefer ripped stoic hypermasculine badass warlords, they prefer the decadent, rich, highly prestigious sons and heirs of hypermasculine badass warlords. Most would however consider the warlord more masculine.

I think at all points in time, there have existed women who did not have a choice, or did not have an uninfluenced choice in their mates somewhere around the globe
And, this was not the only point in my post
I do agree that women have some responsibility wrt toxic masculinity I just don't think that women are solely responsible for it or define it

The history of fathers choosing a daughters mate is a blip on the screen of evolutionary history compared to the eons of Cavechad rape and selection.
You are delusional.

So you're shifting from the SOLE cause to a PRIMARY cause?
Get the fuck out of here
Also, you are saying that men's (including that of their family) perceptions of women's choices have had no influence at any point in time on women's mate selection?
This is bullshit and I even know from first hand experience, how a girl's parents see their SO plays a big role in whether they stay with a guy or not

Yes, but logically, if you are arguing that women alone are responsible for masculinity and I can provide exactly one counterexample, I've disproved your argument

Seriously contradicting your thesis is that masculinity has been expressed in so, so many different ways in different cultures over time.
The 18th century French court would have found the Marlboro Man to be a gross unmanly laborer. Americans find Japanese action heroes to be swishy. Ancient Chinese masculinity was very warlike but also strangely homoerotic with all its oaths between brothers. Even over the space of a few decades it gets blurry. 1970s Burt Reynolds characters: can't tell if masculine.
There's no linear progression from a to z. Sexual selection doesn't take us steadily from the ultra-feminine Moses to the ultra-masculine Justin Bieber. Instead, it just zags all over the place.

The statues depict physically fit males. That has nothing at all to do with masculinity; it's just what a healthy man looks like.
Masculinity is the ways a culture believes that a man should dress and act and present himself; what hobbies are appropriate for him; how he should treat other men and how he should treat women.
And specifically, it's the ways a man should do these things that do not also apply to women and aren't universal.
Masculinity isn't muscles. It's working on cars instead of learning to sew.

Red and blackpill to the core here, but OP's view only holds water if you're talking about generations prior to any type of peaceful civilization. Afterward how do you account for the sheer amount of women who propagate with beta males b/c of betabux and the fact that many women didn't have control over their choice of mate? The meme of a woman having Chad's baby while her beta unknowingly provides is a powerful one not without merit, but even then these cases are very much a minority.

I mean it's either one or the other. Either a large number of women - basically the majority - in ancient, past, and present selected betas for procreation or a large number of women in ancient and past settled down with betas who unknowingly raised Chad's children. In the present from statistics we know only approximately 1 in 25 fathers is not the biological father of his child(ren) - still too high if you ask me - but there it is. If it's the former then OP has a problem.
[–]tallwheelManosphere Unificationist-1 points0 points1 point (5 children) | Copy Link
[–][deleted] [recovered] (4 children) | Copy Link
I don't deny the merit of the OP when we are talking about straight up primal female biology. Just that it's obvious when looking at the men women settle down with esp in the present day, they are not selecting Chads en masse or even Chaddy betas. Frankly I don't mind. As you say, it takes betas to keep society going - life is easier and less competitive for me the more men stay plugged in.

[–][deleted] [recovered] (2 children) | Copy Link
I think we are in agreement that feminists are often hypocrites in railing against masculinity while themselves being secretly or not so secretly drawn to masculine men. Feminists are hypocrites in a lot of ways with countless examples.
But modern society pressures women to settle down with betas. They may be sexually attracted to Chad but the sheer amount of betas combined with Chad's general unwillingness to commit mean that even if she rode the cock carousel prior she is still ultimately procreating with beta Bob. The amount of women breeding with beta Bob far outnumbers the amount of women breeding with Chad McChadderson.
