I watch how some of these PUA guys post videos on youtube trying to get a large following, have these conferences to help men get better with women, and try to come off as authority figures while also wanting an audience. Many playboys (Hugh Hefner, who lost his virginity at 22) are also the same way, guys who missed out on the hedonism alongside popularity games in their youth and are now trying to make up for it in adulthood.

It's not that these guys actually want to have sex with tons of women that matters, the main issue here is they want to be perceived as being objectively high status men. In high school the hierarchy was clear cut, same with college, you had the jocks, wealthier charismatic guys, and hot girls on top while everyone else was below them.

Unfortunately, high school and college are a special time in life because:

1 - You're around everyone who is about your age range.

2 - You are all packed into the same area.

3 - For the most part, you are all in somewhat similar situations.

4 - You're forced to see each other almost daily.

5 - The whole hookup culture, being cool, and hedonism means something and is usually correlated with popularity (Greek Life is an excellent example of it).

So when a popular guy in high school or even college is with hot girls and getting invited to the fun parties (which go on social media now a days), making out with hot girls on snapchat, and having a hell of a time; other guys are almost forced to watch it while not being a part of it themselves. It is that feeling coming out on top and earning respect from some of the most cruel and shallow individuals in American culture (high school and college kids) that makes being a player in those years that much more fulfilling.

Not only that, if you are the man in high school and college then you know you are the man because it is more or less. You are a stud and best of all, you are in a group of friends with other guys who are also high status and KNOW they are winners. Unfortunately, in adulthood, the same doesn't happen anymore because adulthood is boring and for the most part lonely.

What changed?

Everyone around your age (late 20s and on) started getting married and having kids, moving on or "maturing" as they said. In high school or college if you were a playboy, it meant a lot because everyone who was someone was a part of it. The media pedestalizes the school experience in regards to sex and dating, it is supposed to be "edgy" and "cool" to have tons of sex in high school and college. Adulthood is supposed to be calm, boring as fuck, and very bland in comparison because everyone is supposed to be "mature" now. Even if you are getting laid a lot as a guy in his 30s and pulling hot girls on the regular, you don't get the same validation and fulfillment from being a playboy that you would have gotten in your teens and college days.

Sex in high school and college is cool and edgy, in adulthood it is not as big of a deal getting it. That is why the high school Chads and frat bros who fuck hot girls are respected and glamorized in media while wealthy 30 year old bachelors that fuck attractive women are generally not glamorized to the same extent.

The hedonism, popularity contests, and all of those things no longer really exist and even when they do, they don't have the same cool factor attached to them because the circumstances have changed. Being a playboy in your school days is like the fulfillment that comes from being a sports team that beats a sports dynasty in its prime while being one in adulthood is like being a sports team that beats a team that used to be a dynasty but is now a former shell of itself.

But these guys want that validation, respect, and feeling of superiority that they didn't get in their school years, yet the circumstances have changed so much to where they won't get it as adults.

Because as adults, we give respect to people who would be "boring" by normal standards. The doctor with a stable life and a plain looking wife is respected in society but a PUA that is in his 30s chasing women and partying? Not so much.

That is why words like stability, marriage, and settling down trigger the fuck out of a lot of playboys.

The playboys and "alpha" bachelors are searching for that validation and fulfillment from getting laid that came in their school years, yet they will never get it in adulthood because the popularity games no longer exist. Popularity games that exist in adulthood are boring ones that talk about what your job is, what neighborhood you live in, and what your kids are doing. To put it bluntly, they're boring as fuck and not even worth taking part in as opposed to the ones in your school days which were cool and edgy because if you did them right, it led to you having tons of hot sex and being respected for that.

So what if these guys date hot young girls? They will still be seen as weird from her social circle and fucking a hot 21 year old when you are 35 isn't nearly as fulfilling as fucking her when you are both 21, in college, and going through the same things in life.

A lot of these playboys and alpha bachelors brag about their lays and showcase their lifestyle the best they can in order to try and play that status game but the issue is, most adults don't care. Most adults are so preoccupied with other stuff that they don't care that much. Now that specifically is what kills these playboys the most, they're performing yet the audience has left and is no longer interested in the genre.

In truth, these playboys want an audience and want to be seen at the top of a social hierarchy similar to the one in high school but circumstances have changed to where that same social hierarchy no longer exists. Even if they sleep with hot supermodels while being in their 30s, it won't be the same because they don't have the same audience or the brotherhood of other alphas to congratulate them that a high status frat bro in college had.
