So I came across this very interesting newspaper article about a girl complaining nerds keep talking to her about Pokemon Go: http://imgur.com/gallery/vNPRY4a

It's a picture so i can't quote it, but the article basically says that she feels annoyed and irritated some nerdy guys asked about her pokemon (she does play the game herself) on her app. Secondly, she says "What happened to the gold old days of nerds staying indoors and firmly avoiding social interaction?"

she also says that running into other players is probably one of her biggest turn offs about the game.

First of all, Pokemon Go is meant to be a game played with others. Soon enough they will add trading and player vs player battles. It's a collaborative game. Many men or women ask me about it all the time when i play, and they are not trying to show sexual or romantic interest.

Second, I think the issue here is taking the concept of "Not making a girl uncomfortable" to "A guy's social worth is determined by his SMV". See, she is attributing these guys attention as sexual interactions, because she isn't saying that they prevented her from playing the game or made her gaming experience bad. She isn't inherently judging these guys by what they have to offer for Pokemon Go.

My view is, the constant pushing of consensual sexual interaction and "Don't be a creeper", leads to women judging men and their interaction with them exclusively by how attractive a man is.
