I recently created this throwaway account to post in r/relationships about my relationship of 4 years, to seek out advice and also just to sort of vent. I received 2 responses (that's two more than average) and one of these responses happened to be from a redditor who seems to exclusively frequent subreddits having to do with the relationship dynamics between the two genders and the like. A little glimpse into his comment history led me straight to TRP.

I am still fairly new to Reddit as well as to the whole RP/BP hullabaloo, so please excuse me if my terminology is off.

I spent a lot of time sifting through TRP in search of what it is exactly my S.O. wants/needs from me, and what it is I need to do to get what I want/need from him, and also just to get a better grasp on the male mind. The majority of the posts I came across were submitted by men who appear to be intelligent and highly skilled at clearly articulating their theories and beliefs into organized, structured posts. I was initially impressed, but as I began to actually read and process the information being given in this subreddit I began to develop feelings of indignation. Not that I completely disagree with these theories. In fact, I was genuinely surprised at how accurately these men could point out and describe in detail the crazy mind games that so many women practice on the opposite sex. And if I'm being completely honest here, I must admit that I am also guilty of participating in such behavior on occasion. With that being said, I truly feel that TRP is missing a very large point here. Yes, it is true that women today are hypergamous, manipulative, and in short, the devil incarnate. But does that mean that all women are like this? Not at all! The typical "woman" described by the red pill theory only touches on one specific type of woman: the superficial gold digger.

We've all heard it before... not all men are dogs. In the same way, not all women are selfish bitches. If all men had the mindset that TRP wants men to have, then I've already lost all hope in love. Sure, more women may be statistically attracted to the "alpha" as opposed to the "beta", but once again, this is true for both genders and not just for women. All of the words of advice and direction pushed upon men in this subreddit to help become the ultimate "alpha" male are instilling behaviors that I find extremely off-putting when encountered directly in real life. I have dated the "alpha", and I have also dated the "beta" and I can safely and confidently say that I would choose a beta over an alpha any day, and I know that I am not the only one.

Although I love and support the idea of what TRP stands for, I just can't get past the fact that not all types of women are fairly represented within the community. Nevertheless, it has opened my eyes to see some of the things that I am doing wrong in my own relationship, and will be applying these new ideas to help become a better woman for my man so that he will have a stronger desire to be a better man for me .
