Gates, Bezos, Warren Buffet, and Trump are not rich because of these qualities. That is the great lie of capitalism. Every single one of them got to where they are because of luck. Capitalism is luck. Luck of opportunity, luck of birth.

Warren Buffet is the son of a successful businessman and congressman. If that doesn't give you an advantage in life I don't know what does.

Trump... well say no more. The guy is just an heir. He has the business acumen of a goldfish. But it doesn't matter when you start out with that much money. Because money makes money. Its like a magnet. A person who starts out with a billion dollars is infinitely more likely to make a hundred million dollars in his life than someone who starts out with 1 dollar.

Bezos didn't start out filthy rich like the previous ones but he went to Princeton, became a banker, managed a hedge fund, then used that money to start amazon. He's not a tech wiz. He's a damn banker and hedge fund manager. The parasites of society. If you want to count that "ruthlessness" then go ahead. But in the end he's an ivy leaguer, and has all the benefits of elitism and privilege. I think there is no coincidence that he went to Princeton, and went on to be a senior vice president in a hedge fund at the age of 30. Its not his business acumen that got him there.

Gates is just lucky. Plain and simple. Building computers, and writing software was the hobby and pastime of many people throughout the decades. But Gates was doing it at a pivotal point in history, at the perfect time and place. There are people smarter and better than him who were doing the same thing on the other coast, or another city. Through a combination of the companies he worked for, the people he met, and his passion for his very common hobby, he lucked his way into a tech empire. But hey, there is not shame in that at all. Its just how the system works. At least he did the work. I have more respect for Gates than any other billionaire. But its still luck. Our entire economy is just a massive lottery. You can improve your chances by working harder and smarter, but without luck it means nothing.

The great thing about Bill Gates is he knows he was lucky. And he's now paying it back by trying to use his wealth to make the world better.

So the answer to your question is: Being considered an "alpha" has nothing to do with financial success. But that's all being an alpha or beta is, the perception of others. There is actually no such thing. There are no alphas or betas. Just how people try to put us in boxes.

Rich people will give you advice by advocating "alpha" qualities like the ones you mentioned above. Because many of them think that's how they got there. Its very hard to look at your success and realize you didn't earn it. Or at least you didn't earn it more so than any other hard worker. It was just luck. It takes a wise person to realize this and instead of feeling insecure, just feel grateful. If only every billionaire could be like Bill Gates.

This is purely my definition, but I consider Alphas to be those men who are capable of building, or continuing, a dynasty. Of course, this means that these men have to have money and political power, but also the capacity to move their legacy forward through time intact. This can be localized or global.

In my opinion, modern society has made this difficult, but not impossible.

Trump is definitely Alpha. All of his children are wealthy and powerful; with the obvious exception of his youngest. Regardless of how people might feel about him personally, his family stands to accumulate more money and power in the coming years. His only real weak point is that he has been divorced twice. This means that there is a strong possibility that his legacy will be divided amongst greedy ex-wives and their children once he passes away.

Time will tell for Gates or Bezos, their children are actually still young. Bezos has already been hit pretty hard financially with his divorce and he does not seem to have any political ambitions, but time will tell. Gates has been married for the longest and has three children, no political ambitions so far. Buffett is probably not Alpha. He really did not do any legacy building with his family. It looks like his son was involved in politics, but it seemed to be for business purposes rather than power building.

Guys like say Dan Blizerian or others of that type, don't usually have children or political power. If they do have children they are not going to be around for them generally speaking.

Guys who are pure beta are generally unambitious. They might have children in general, but their wives will likely divorce them and ensure that they don't have the kind of influence that is necessary to guide a family.

It takes a special kind of ambition to accumulate both wealth and power; and then make that generational. Whatever skills and traits you think this might require is what would define an Alpha.

It depends on the situation. Whoever is the leader in that situation is the alpha. If I’m the best at chemistry in my lab group, and I have good leadership skills, I’m the alpha in that situation. If I’m at a party and I’m the center of attention making lots of friends and attracting girls, I’m the alpha in that situation. Nobody is an alpha in every situation. Anyone can become or stop becoming an alpha at any time.

The concepts of “alphas” and “betas” are not entirely representative of humans, we are too complicated to simply be described in such simplistic terms.

You can say alpha traits are dominance, assertiveness, leadership, strength, charisma etc. and beta traits are submissiveness, too much agreeableness, weakness etc, but if you assume that the typical alphas rule the world, you ‘d be mistaken.

It’s more useful to think of alpha in terms of traits than individuals .

ALPHA TRAITS

Positive: charisma, charm, leadership, intuition

Negative: manipulative, aggressive, selfish, impulsive

BETA TRAITS

positive: comforting, reliable, stoic, empathetic, loyal

Negative: passive, boring, overly agreeable

If you attempt to deal in absolutes here you’re gonna have a bad time, but to win at LTRs you need the right mix of alpha and beta traits and employ them in varying levels at different times

Alpha is simply a man who due to the right genetics and natural hormonal balance is able to reproduce without much effort i.e. courting, providing resources, being a productive person. Being a responsible, productive leader, a pillar of the community is more a high beta thing because your value is contingent on those things. The Alpha is embraced just for existing. Jeremy Meeks will spend his whole life mating with all types of women beautiful and/or high status (not the low quality, low self esteem women) just for his combination of jawline and low inhibition, nothing more will be asked of him in society; he had children as a felon with an ambitious hard working woman, moved onto a Billionaires daughter and is now digging into some 'model'.

Omegas are invisible or despised unless they subliminate all the energy into a passion e.g. Isaac Newton, Michelangelo, Nikola Tesla.

Rollo Tomassi (The Godfather of The Red Pill) says that alpha is a mindset. There are guys in prison who are alphas, guys working minimum wage jobs who are alphas, guys who are unemployed who are alphas. Equally there are leaders of big business who are betas - Bezos, Gates, Musk, Branson, all these guys are huge betas both socially and with women.

So it's got nothing to do with money. It's more down to looks and how charismatic and socially dominant you are.

Basically, alphas are true love of females. They are quite lazy because they don't need money to reproduce.
Most rich or powerful man are not beta but radical beta. Radical beta male are polygamous, use pure resources to get female. They are more likely to be successful because they need resources to reproduce, so these who failed would extinct.

I agree with Rollo Tomassi that people tend to project their own self-perception onto whatever they perceive as 'alpha' traits (because nobody really wants to be the 'beta'). So let's say you see yourself as a 'laid-back person', then your inclination will be to assign 'laid-backness' onto the alpha stereotype. Better then to see 'alpha' and 'beta' as abstract terms, and not necessarily define their inherent qualities, but rather look at the result of being one or the other:

So if you're the sort of guy that women will choose for short-term flings and one-night-stands, then you're probably pretty alpha. If women do not impose a set of rules and expectations upon you in order to fuck you, you're probably alpha. We don't have to know your inherent qualities to determine that you are (just look at the effect).

If, on the other hand, women will generally only fuck you if you submit to a set of rules (long-term commitment, limiting what's on the sexual menu for you, negotiation, do-this-for-me-first etc.), you're probably more of a beta. Again, we don't need to determine what it is that makes you a 'beta' in order to know that you are.

But simply for the fun of it, and with the phenomenon of 'projection' in mind, I'll try to describe what I see as 'alpha' traits:

Wicked good looks. In my mind, there's no getting around this. If you're wearing the markers of superior genetics, then you're basically what the 'alpha' is all about.
A mindset of 'abundance' as opposed to a mindset of 'scarcity'. If you truly believe there are "plenty of fish in the sea" for you, then obviously that's going to impact your behaviour - and your level of agreeableness - towards women. But again, this point will naturally follow from the previous point.

So all in all, it really does come down to 'looks' as far as I'm concerned.

If you use the natural definition of alpha its obviously the bigger, taller, stronger and more faster a male is the more alpha because all these traits help keep him alive to perpetuate the species and pass on his genes. But we dont live in nature amymore we live in the modern day so alot of people misconstrued a natural alpha with a modern alpha. Modern alphas are all the men you listed because they have the traits required to gain the most resources and status in our modern society which in turn makes them for example a more beneficial mate then a hot guy with no job. Of course their are mixes and blends of these two alpha types but in our modern age a new niche has been opened to be filled by alphas of a different type not found in nature.
