My cousin's first wife was a complete bitch. She threw a tantrum because the diamond wasn't big enough. So like a schmuck he takes it back and gets some rock he can't afford put on.

Surprise! After 2 kids and 5 years later she dumps him for some real estate broker and she took him through the ringer in the divorce.

His second wife is a class act though. Since they were both in their late 30's and more mature when they got married, she wanted to wear her grandmothers rings that she inherited because they meant something to her. The wedding was done in an old antique schoolhouse with a country theme and the reception at a restaurant that their friend owned. They probably spent under 5K total and it was one of the most fun weddings I ever went to.

Update3: A girlfriend of hers called me and said she wanted to be surprised in front of her friends. Apparently a few friends of her got a proposal akin to that... And my gf wanted the same.... And no she didn't mention it once that she wanted one like that, and she knows i am more a romantic guy that likes to be alone with her because of intimacy... She said it wasn't a proposal she dreamt of and that I don't respect her dreams and/or wishes and that I am selfish...

Well this is from her friend... I'm gonna leave work in a couple of hours... I will talk about this with her, no need to run away (atm tho)

Reminds me of a conversation I had with a friend of mine. I told her there are no such thing as unconditional love in a relationship.
