I always thought that looking at yourself in the mirror, realising what you are, what you are not and what you are deserving of was the standard routine but clearly not.

I am a firm believer in holding standards within others that you hold within yourself. In other words, if you don't care about fitness then you have no business in wanting somebody with lean body mass. If you are Big Betty or Dad Bod Dave then your standard in wanting somebody with a fit and healthy body reeks of entitlement. Look in the mirror and reflect on yourself, do you actually deserve the results of another person's effort when you can't practice the same level of discipline within yourself? I personally think not. Of course, some people still get what they want but this doesn't make them any less entitled if you ask me.

TLDR: How are you going to hold standards in others that you can't even hold within yourself? Actually look in the mirror and realise the discrepancies between who you are and what you want.
