The most I ever did for a guy like this was a simple "I'm gonna go ahead and move on. Good luck!" He started whining about being busy, so I told him I'm busy too. Then never heard from him again. I should've just blocked and moved on and left him wondering. We're being too nice. They know they're behavior is shit and they don't care.

Is this early on in dating? Keep yourself busy to avoid becoming too emotionally attached. Date multiple men at once. Maybe also consider not dating during the pandemic if you feel like it has affected you psychologically.

"I'm gonna call you later" is just a way to keep you on the hook until he finds an acceptable excuse for his dropping off.

Also, there is no way you're going to make him admit he lost interest, or was with someone else, or whatever. That would eliminate you from his pool of options completely. Stop trying to get the truth out of him. It's not coming and you already know what the right move is, so do it.

I tried this ultimatums with my most recent ex, and it never worked. He would be better for a while and then just forget me again. Just like he did when initially scheduling dates at the beginning - flaking, or waiting for me to initiate the time and place. Guess what? That’s how the whole relationship ended up going. Me never feeling wanted, threatening to leave, asking for certain gestures, him providing for a short time, then back to square one. Never again.

It eroded my self esteem over time. You shouldn’t need to tell men to remember you and care about you. They should just want to talk to you.

The guy I’m seeing now follows through with dates, he will see his friends but only has a couple of drinks, and then leaves early to take me for dinner and drinks. He texts me all the time even when he’s out with friends. I never initiate.

Night and day to my ex. He’d eventually just leave me on read. Forget to message me for full days at a time. I just started matching his energy and guess what? He didn’t give a flying fuck. He literally just wouldn’t talk to me or see me if it wasn’t for me eventually texting, or he would remember at night to ask me to come over.

If my current one starts doing this, I’m leaving straight away.

I’d listen to his phone call at least but realistically, if a guy loves you, he’ll make time for you. Unless of course he’s an entrepreneurial business man type but even then, he should be explaining that lifestyle and what it means to you. Some men are just oblivious and terrible communicators but once they realize it’s negatively affecting you, there should be obvious signs of trying if he loves you. However, most likely, he sees you as a side piece and he has someone else or wants to at least. He needs to explain himself because if he’s dismissing of this OBVIOUS problem, well then BYEEEE!
