Spend 6 months in corporate America and you’ll see tall (straight) white men (with blue eyes especially) get everythinggggg handed to them - credibility, promotions, authority.

Look at 98% of company websites dedicated to bios of their board or executive team and you’ll see what I’m talking about. The other 2% have 1-2 blonde white ladies, a black guy, a black woman who isn’t even of American descent (no hate to immigrants whatsoever, just something I’ve noticed), and if it’s a tech company they’ll have a man or two of South Asian descent.

Losing my attraction to tall white guys has been a huge blessing. Most tall guys would have the same incel level hatred for women that their short counterparts do, it’s just that they get laid (or have the potential to get laid) way more often bc of their height so they have higher self esteem. Society also bends over backwards to reward tall white dudes for existing so naturally they internalize it.

Men can evade incel-dom and reap social rewards just by being over 5 foot 10. That’s why guys 5 foot 7 and above always lie about their height. If anyone has any young boys in their family who are super tall you’ve probably heard all your relatives gush about how he’ll be a heart breaker etc.

Sorry for the tangent, I guess I have a lot to say about tall white male privilege. Lol.

I thought I was crazy. I've had so many short ex's (anything under 6'1 is short to me, I'm 5'10, and I love heels) who've all gone out of their way to be nasty to me about their height and then proceed to neg me about my own appearance. THIS MOSTLY HAPPENED TO ME FROM SHORT MEN. Maybe mother nature is telling us something about short men, lolol...like they're unfit to be even considered a partner maybe? Idk, taller men seem to at least have the basics of manners, sometimes. I mean, if they're going to act like scrotes, I'll be picky AF. I've said it b4, and I'll say it again, if you're not hot, over 6'3 in height, and don't take care of your appearance, don't even bother speaking to me. If men can act like they have a right to someone as beautiful as Megan Fox, then shame you for your makeup and hair, I'll be picky. I workout a lot and am finishing my PhD so I will be picky, happily, idgaf. The average man looks like Shrek and thinks bc he did some college-level courses, he knows more. It's the attitude for me, short men need a dose of reality.

We live in a white supremacist, patriarchal world, sis (there’s more, but I’ll leave it there for now). That means, everything else being equal, a tall white male will have added benefits and privileges a tall black male, for example, won’t.

I don’t think being into guys who are tall AND white intrinsically is an issue. But given the world we live in and the conditioning we receive about what is attractive vs what isn’t, it’s important for us to understand why we might be into tall, white guys and whether they’re getting benefit of the doubt (from us, society, etc) that other men might not be receiving. If everything else was equal, would we be equally into a tall, South Asian man for example?

These are important biases to examine and therefore deconstruct.

ETA: I’m guilty of the same conditioning and have spent years actively mentally “deconditioning” myself to stop prioritizing white Eurocentric standards of beauty.
