I recently learned about “Simps” and after listening to Kevin Samuels instalive recording on modern day women having backup plans I realized a friend of mine has been using her ex as a simp solely for her benefit (basically being financially dependent on him bc she refuses for find a job). And I pointed it out to her but kept saying she’s “working on herself” and “deserves” the money. I feel that men being nice to women and not getting affection back and then being upset is problematic, but it also upsets me that some women will take advantage of these types of men. If a women wants nothing to do with a man then drop him and tell him, don’t lie to him and give him hope because you’re not ready to be financially independent. It’s not helpful for either man or woman- the woman has no urgency to become financially independent and if the man moves on before she’s ready, it’s going to be a hard time. The man is just being used unjustly, I’d just feel shitty if I knew I didn’t like someone and they were doing stuff for me in the hopes of a relationship.

I tried to see if there were discussions or articles about this critique on women and didn’t really find any. Definitely let me know if I’m missing something here...
