Idk call me cynical but this feels fake. It’s written in a very “young” way that doesn’t authentically feel like a mom. The “y’all” speech is very lefty tumblr. The meme and the surprise ending with her being bi was a bridge too far for my suspension of disbelief. It may be a gay youth writing supportive-parent fiction which is fine, it just doesn’t ring true for me.

Though, if it is true, good for her for picking her son over an abusive man. Too many women wouldn’t.

I guess there was a happy ending to this, but two things:

1) You’re enraged that your soon-to-be ex-husband is a homophobe. Um, in the 15+ years you’ve known him it’s never come out? You never had an inkling that he was? Find that hard to believe.
