If he doesn't give up his jacket, she's cold once and will remember hers next time. If he gives up his jacket for her, she never learns and he establishes a pattern that makes him cold every time or face being regarding as an asshole based off precedence.

Real men can tell the difference between momentary pleasure and a lifetime of prosperity, and rightfully choose the latter. Real women can rightfully accept and carry the consequences of their actions, like the woman here. It's not gender-biased, either. It's called being an adult.

She didn't forget. She just misjudged her mobile coat hanger. Think about it. She knew it was cold, but she didn't want to carry a jacket around all night once she got inside. It ruins your outfit if you're carrying a jacket. So she brought her mobile coat hanger with her. The guy who is supposed to carry the jacket around inside all night, because, well, it's his jacket after all. Little did she know he was cold too.

I see no problem with giving up my jacket to someone I love, even when they're made a poor decision, the same way I see no problem with a close friend or SO picking at my food at a restaurant as long as they ask first.

The problem with this image is that there is a comfortable and utilitarian solution that lies between "Real men are supposed to sacrifice for women" and "Women should be made to suffer for their bad decisions".

How about instead of somebody suffering, we choose to be reasonable human beings and sacrifice for the people that are important for us while at the same time refusing to be used by strangers because of our gender and society's impression of us as disposable providers?

Theres no issue with offering your jacket to a girl if shes cold. It's a nice thing to do. And so what if she doesn't offer you hers, you probably dont fit in the thing anyway.
