My older brother used to be in a relationship with this crazy chick. She flew off the handle one night and started hitting and scratching him. Now, we were raised to never strike a woman, and he stuck to that. The only thing he did was catch her wrists after she had drawn blood in dozens of places. And he gently pushed her away, she didn't even fall.

She calls the cops and tells a sob story, guess who spends the night in jail?

Yep, despite her not having a mark on her, my older brother being cover in blood, and a witness siding with my brother, he still got arrested for domestic violence.

The cops reason? "In Washington, the man always gets arrested."

Edit: My sleep deprived brain worded this poorly. My brother didn't date Zoe. I just felt my story was relevant, given all the talk about double-standards. Apologies for the confusion!

men are always guilty. women are always innocent. it is known.

to convict a man in the court of public opinion, an accusation is enough. to convict a women, you have to have an overwhelming amount of evidence, or the woman's confession. even then some won't believe it. and if there is a confession, they'll say she was pressured into it.

The gaming journalism issue is overshadowing something really evil that Zoe did. She didn't just sleep with 5 guys to give her game good press. She attacked the depressed men on Wizardchan and tried to stir up major trouble for them. Let's not forget this fact guys because it relates directly to Men's Rights.

Stories like this make me physically nauseated. I am aware that sexual assault against women is an issue, especially on college campuses, but what year did it start becoming a thing that the second a guy is accused of assault he is just automatically guilty? IT'S NUTS. People get so up in arms about it that judges and prosecutors are pressured into getting guilty verdicts no matter what, even though the accusation alone is enough to ruin their lives.

And apparently both these people did it, but just as a model, due process is a sham.

Not to defend Zoe Quinn, but sleeping around, even if it's to advance your career, is not even the same ballpark as sexual assault. I'm not saying this justifies the backlash in support of Zoe Quinn, I'm just saying the comparison is kinda moot cuz they're very different cases.

Actually, this is basically the same thing. Woman makes claim, mob believes woman, with no evidence required (or against any evidence that the woman is wrong).

I was almost upset at Egoraptor for a minute there. But what he says is right: no one is entitled to harass Zoe for what she did (or what we heard that she did). And I think part of it is him trying to maintain PC-ness so that he doesn't look bad. Though, if I see him stepping out in actual support of her that'd be another story.

Guys, it's up to us to counteract the pussypass and stick up for other men. Demand evidence, demand fairness, and call women out on their bullshit. Reverse then tide of blatant white knighting -- don't help women unless they're your girlfriend, spouse, or family.
