Today we had another conversation about this. A no go with some of the people who responded...

I told her, "ok, child support is inevitable, and calculated by state formula, but alimony, why should that be paid out if you're a grown adult who can earn her own scratch and if you agree you dont need me anymore?"

She pointed out that theres no way she could qualify for a refi on the house, and that she likely wont be able to put the title in her name.

This lead me to think that perhaps she can stay in the house, and I will pay the mortgage, and give her money for the kids (like 200 per kid, so 600, [they're 11, 12 and 15]). This way the kids have a home, and if she moves out and on with her new BF, I can keep the property and rent it out. Plus I can use a heloc for further investments on the property, theres about 200k in equity.

Long story short, she cried, which really hurts my heart and soul. I hate seeing her in any kind of pain. She admitted that theres no way she can qualify for our house, which lead me to think about it as leverage for further investments without her...

Maybe I'm a sucker, but I'm also an idiot, so I want your opinion.

Do I cover her mortgage at 1200 a month, maybe utilities too at 300 a month, give her the car, which is paid off,(I have a truck that's also paid off), all our furniture (which includes a lot of expensive shit), and give her 600 for child support, for her to leave me the pontoon house boat, trailer, stocks, my physical shit, and no access to future accounts/earnings?

She mentioned she qualifies for future retirement accounts, and a third of my income. Been married 16 years

What's the crowd say??

Also, I want you guys to know you are awesome, inspiring, and goddammit, you're worth it. Thank you for existing at the same time I exist. You're great and I'm rooting for you!
