That thread is a fucking trainwreck. Half of the comments blame women for not giving them enough emotional support (LOL). The other half actively blame women. I read there that false rape reports, "unfair" divorces, women not being traditional anymore, and other MRA bullshit are responsible for male suicide. God I can't stand men.

Can you imagine one man complimenting another for taking a shower or doing his laundry? Let them compliment each other for basic life skills if it will save their lives.

The only being I am going to recognize for accomplishing the basic things I expect from him is my fucking dog. Good boy goes potty outside! Good boy who ate all his breakfast. Thank you for the nice kisses.

I thought that thread was fascinating. I didn’t dare point out that 95% (made up statistic but can’t be far wrong) of total murders and then their 68% of total suicide figures just shows that men are just violent and brutal for the majority.

Maybe THAT’S what needs addressing.

Honestly couldnt care less about the suicide Rates of males. Sorry not sorry. Also I would never give a compliment that I dont mean, thats why I only compliment my husband and my father of all the males I know. They really do a good job and I appreciate them.

Pffft i wish someone would compliment me on basic shit but I'm just expected to do all that shit and it's taken for granted.

I've been thinking about this for awhile and what i think it comes down to is that deep down men feel useless. Think on this. For the first 200,000 years of human exist there is a lot of archeological evidence to suggest that we lived in egalitarian matri-focal goddess worshippping cultures. Basically women were revered just for existing and giving life. Women are the closet living things to the definition of gods because we are the creatrixes. Relatively recently in human history (10,000 years) men have suddenly taken power and control female reproduction. It's been explained to me by a male indigenous rights activist that he believes men have always felt inferior and inadequate because they feel they are not biologically necessary. So they created an entire system of social value which preferences men above women. Basically it's all a smoke screen.

Now that women can have jobs, make their own money, have bank accounts etc men are feeling threatened again. They feel they should get credit for shit women have been doing all along because they know they don't have much value to add. It all comes down to womb-envy.

I mainly receive compliments from other women, because women aren’t afraid to say it. Men, however, don’t feel comfortable complimenting other men, because they often feel threatened if a man is doing better than them in some way.

I'm disgusted by how many medals the post got. The problem in itself is a serious one, but the fact male suicide gets constantly harped on while rape victims and domestic violence victims are constantly accused of making false claims on reddit... I swear, I believe paid entities/trolls are purposely upvoting/gilding posts like that to push them to the top of reddit in order to indoctrinate men into racism, misogyny, authoritarianism, etc.
It's not as if they point out what often TRULY prompts people to commit suicide-- economic desperation and despair. They won't dare question how a small percentage their fellow MEN hoard most of the wealth in the world, while others go without.
