I think lying to ourselves is slipping into dangerous territory. You shouldnt tell men any number at all, its not any of their business. If he asks you, that's a serious red flag in my opinion. But be honest with yourself always. Maybe keeping track of the men you've had sex with vs the men you've had orgasms with would be a good idea as a constant reminder that casual sex is rarely worth it or rewarding for women.

Lying to ourselves also implies shame, never feel shame for your past, instead view it as a learning opportunity. And maybe if all of us decide to stop telling men our number they will finally take the hint and stop asking.

You can count whoever you want. Only an abuser would make the effort to try to find out if you are lying if your body count is plausible.

I suppose if a woman took men home and only let them go down on her to completion and never let them fuck her (touching his dick otherwise is optional) she could technically claim a 0 body count.

(This idea is amusing to me except the part where men angry men become violent men, so I don’t recommend.)

I remove certain people from my count for certain reasons (abuse and coercion) and I’ve always been like “there’s this person but they don’t count”, I guess because I felt guilty or some reason thinking I have to explain myself.

I don’t know why I ever feel like I have to justify not including them, I don’t how relevant to This post this is but it made me think about it. I just realized I don’t have to mention it or justify never including that in my count ever and I don’t have to feel bad about it. I’ll remember this.
