This is why some women convince themselves they want an “open relationship.” If they can tell themselves it’s not cheating if they allow it, they can avoid the heartbreak. Or, you you know you could have avoided the heartbreak by not settling for a man who you know can’t keep it in his pants.

Oh MAN. I am reminded of an article written by a woman in her 50s about her husband's string of affairs. She detailed her pain, her exhaustion (with a mental breakdown during which she was hospitalized for a couple weeks), her trying to manipulate him back, all the whole raising kids together, but ultimately she felt pride that she "kept their family together" despite it all, and looked forward to retiring with her cheating man because she predicts he's done with affairs after being free to taste it all, and they will enjoy old age together.

Here's the thing; cheating is NOT normal among humans. A lot of men use the caveman argument about polygyny, and that among animals with sexual dimorphism in size where the female is smaller have harems. Here's why women are smaller in stature; in areas where men and boys were fed more than women, and men staved food from women and girls during food shortages, it was advantageous for women to require less calories to live, ergo, smaller stature. You'll notice that in Scandinavian countries with more egalitarian views there is very little height difference between men and women. We were literally genetically engineered via selective breeding and starvation. So there goes their sexual dimorphism argument in favor of cheating.

I went to read it out of curiosity and thought it would be talking about how cheating is actually way more common then people realize and doesn’t have to be a relationship ender- because I do know a couple where one cheated and went and confessed to the other what happened and they worked through it and working through it brought up other issues they had and actually weirdly long term benefited their relationship

But it’s not even that it’s so sad she’s clearly been cheated on before and is trying to justify it to herself and pretend it’s empowering with some weird ass logic that she’s just “such a strong woman” that of course men have to cheat on her.

I would feel bad for her but she’s trying to write articles and trick other women into falling for this bs.

Accept that it's totally your fault; and
Do all the gross, sexual things he wants to do.
