I feel like I grew up receiving a ton of terrible mixed messages about men, dating, and sex. I was raised by ABC Family Disney movies, American sex ed classes, and the liberal “feminist” experts pressuring young women to be more “open.” Here are some of the worst lessons I believe I was indoctrinated with:

-Men can’t help themselves once they are sexually excited, so if you still say ‘no’ they have the right to pout and whine like they’re being wrongfully imprisoned

-Fucking random strangers is fun and empowering for you

-If there is a sex act you don’t like or you’re just not in the mood for sex in general, you need to get over it and be more “game”

-If you try your hardest to be kind, generous, open-minded, and physically in shape, you will be treated well through the magic of karma

-Women are the high maintenance gender

-Compliments from a man on your looks is the ultimate validation

-Gender equality is about believing that male and female sexuality is basically the same AKA straight male sexuality

-You should always give him a chaaaance, even if you’re not physically attracted at all and/or his personality turns you off and scares you

-The gateway to reciprocal emotional connection is him unloading his anger and pain on you and you nursing him back to calm and happiness

-If you are worthy, a man will naturally want to take care of you and protect you

-Male selfishness is harmless and female self-protection is demonic

-The worst thing you can do is “scare him away”
