I'm 5'9"

No one has EVER told me I was short irl, but online I'm a turbo-manlet who will never get laid no matter what.

I even meet girls who say shit like "you can't be that short, so-and-so was 6' and you're taller than him" after finding out my height, so you're probably right that the issue stems largely from how many dudes lie about their height. Same shit when it comes to dick size, girls have no idea what they're looking at because every six-inch dude has claimed 8".

There are generally 3 tiers for height imo:

Below 5’6: Height is working against your sexual attraction

5’6-‘5’9: Height does not hurt or help your sexual attraction

5’10+: Height helps your sexual attraction

If you’re below 5’6 it’s as bad as the red/black pillers say. If you’re 5’6-5’9 then you’ll be fine if you’re facially attractive and/or have a level of status/money.

The disparity only comes from the 5’8, 5’9 men that want to catch a first impression with their OLD profile setting their height at 5’10.

You have to remember the chain of events. Men didn't start out by lying about their height online. Women stated their preference on dating sites with posts like "I only date guys 6ft and taller, haha", which triggered an avalanche.

In my experience (female) men often lie about their height, even to themselves. Went on a date once with a dude who claimed to be 6' (it was on his profile, I didn't ask) & he was at least an inch shorter than me (5'8".) The date didn't go south because of his height, but because he was pretty obviously exaggerating EVERYTHING about himself. 🙄

If anything, the height issue is underplayed. Most women are way more shallow about height than they will ever admit. They’ll make up stories about “other problems” guys have just so they don’t have to admit they said no because he was a couple of inches too short.

Women don't care about the exact height down to the number.

If a dude is tall enough for them when they see him, they'll accept it wether he is 6'1" or 5'9".

They don't care as long as they have initial attraction, and him being taller than her.

Kinda. If you’re doing OLD then you’re fucked if you’re not at least 5’9. Now in real life, you’ll do fine as long as you’re at least 5’8+. Once you reach the 5’10.5 territory, you can pass as being even taller depending on how people perceive you.

I dont remember height being so important 10+ years ago. I definitely noticed women stating it more important now than ever. I also know quite well that plenty of women are not strong at estimating height in person either. I think OLD exacerbates it with men lying about their height by something like 2 full inches. And women also seem to be setting accordingly elevated expectations based on being delusions of abundance from OLD and men lying about their heights on there feeding into it.

Anyways, not possible to tell if height is an issue or not. OLD is fucked and will always be fucked. No idea if women are being completely truthful when asked about height.

Height only gets you through the door. Height might even help her get pass a few of your glaring flaws. But if you don’t meet the height threshold then you are indeed fucked. Women know what they feel when they see a tall dude, they might not know your height but they know you are tall. If they say they want 6’0, they mean what they say. They want tall. If they don’t consider what you look like to be tall, you don’t make her feel attracted to you. That simple.

I am 6'2 and a half. Literally right between 6'2 and 6'3.

Any time I met a girl from an app in person, she would comment that I look taller than I claim to be. That's why I make a joke about an "extra" half an inch making all the difference. But anyway, it has been in my experience that women get lied to about how tall a guy is a LOT. Which is dumb because that will always be found out eventually, and who the f actually cares about an inch or two? If you are 5'11 just say you are 5'11. My little brother is 5'9 but I noticed he would say he is almost 6'. Bro... When we stand next to each other it is going to be super obvious that you're lying?

No, it's a social trend, a fad. Women have always liked tall men and men have always liked boobs, but men in the 80s and 90s were obsessed with huge boobs and women in the 10s and 20s are obsessed with guys having to be at least 6ft tall, not 5'11", not 6'1", but 6ft, this is a fad and that explains why it's the same in countries/cultures where 50% of men are over 6ft tall as it is in countries/cultures where 20% of men are over 6ft tall.

Height was never a big deal to me. I'm 5 11 and ex husband was 5 9 so barely any difference. I think it's one of those thing where a very short guy would need a shit tonne of confidence to be able to work round societal attitudes.

If a woman admits to liking short guys she will get called a lesbian or a pedophile. Shortness is just another way that people perceive someone as having less power and ability. So of course any man who has that will be seen as lesser and so will any woman who goes after it.

Once these literal cucks (like cuckolding the fetish) pressured me to talk about what I was into sexually and when I said short guys they bullied me for being raped as a kid. They said I must be into that because short guys are less intimidating and I was scared of a real man from being raped as a kid. It's probably because of the ubiquity of online dating. If I list that I'm 5'8" in my online dating profile, women who are 5'6" will probably think that I'm too short. Yet, I've dated two women who were 5'6" now and neither of them were not attracted to me just because I was only two inches taller than them in real life rather than in some dating app.

A lot of different things are going on with height:

As you mentioned, there is massive height frauding going on so women don't know what a true 6' looks like. Whenever you see a woman say, "Must be at least 6'", what she actually means is "must be average height (5'10.5")".
Social media has inflated the importance of height. Height simply was not as big a deal 20 or even 10 years ago as it is today. Women in particular are heavily influenced by what media/culture prioritizes.
Women are not funny or interesting. Hence their only way to attempt to be either is to "dunk on" people on social media. Short guys are the most acceptable target so that is what women usually go with.
In online dating, women truly have the pick of the litter. They have more attractive guys courting them then they could ever realistically hope to date, or even converse with. With that being the case they need ways to rapidly filter out men and height is a great way to do it.
There is a difference between what women want in the abstract and what they will actually choose when they have the option right in front of them. Any woman is going to say that she would prefer an average looking 6'2" guy over a handsome 5'7 guy, but when she actually has the choice between a 6'2" guy with a mediocre face and Joe Jonas, she is going to go with JJ. Confusion is created simply because women are too stupid to know what they actually want.
Last but certainly not least, women genuinely are slaves to their utterly retarded biology which makes them attracted to height more than any other attribute. Height is the number one thing for women and if they could, they would make every man 6'9" (really short women would make men even taller, more like 7'2"). This is because women are retarded.

I’ve also noticed height has become a factor to think about for a lot of people of both sexes, it seems. It’s strange to me. It’s not something I ever cared about beyond not wanting a partner who’s too tall for me, and I don’t know anyone who ever cared about it. For reference, I’m a 5’5” F. I’ve dated guys between 5’4”- 6”. I generally feel more physical attraction to a person’s facial features and overall fitness, and height just doesn’t feel very important. My husband is about 5’8-5’10”, I don’t remember, and I don’t care. He’s a comfortable height to me. I wonder if maybe the women who seem to care about height say so because women they know have a tall SO, and those men are attractive to them.

I never cared about men’s heights until some nutso made a huge fuss about it, I got yelled at multiple times simply for being a woman because in his rage fueled rants he talked about how women in dating websites care about height. (I also found out he lied about his height lol, loooord)

It was bad. Now I feel like I’m more careful because I never know if a guy has some horrible height insecurity rage inside.

Yea. Men act like women are only attracted to men who are 6'10 but like no it ain't true.

I've grown up around females and males, and I've never seen anyone, anyone, base a relationship or crush on someone based on height, nor reject someone for being short. Never.

Literally having a personality, not being deadbeat, and good hygiene is enough for more averages to land relationships.

Another thing is the vast majority of my friends who are my age (zoomers) have short dads who's mums are taller then their husbands. Maybe 3 of my friends parents are an exception. Even my 6'6 sister has dated guys who were a foot shorter, and my own dad is 5'5 while my mum is 6'0. It's a grossly exaggerated thing perpetuated mostly by men that women will clown on just to get males riled up.
