Where I live (Chile) almost all woman are expected to say no a few times over the course of your escallation to your first sexual interactions. Especialy when they are very much into you it's to prove that they are "not a slut" and "relationship material". When it's just a one night stand or meaningless sex, no is used a lot more sparingly.

Women are taught to say no when they mean yes because society says women who have sex are terrible. TRP, FYI, also says women who have sex with anyone but one man are terrible. But we can pretend both men and women have decided women should say no before they say yes to sex they want.

Women learn to use a "soft no", meaning they are taught not to outright object to something and instead say things until someone else gets the hint. That's socialization. That's also, you know, to keep from getting fucking killed when they turn a guy down even if it is for prom. I was only able to find one example of the reverse, BTW, of a woman killing a guy who turned her down for a date. Moving on.

Here we have a whole bunch of people who say no and don't mean it, who imply no and don't say no, and finally sometimes say no.

Now the boys have a similar problem. They are around women who say no and mean yes. The boys also have a problem because they don't pick up on soft no. Boys won't understand when a woman says, "I have a really early day at work tomorrow," that she actually means, "No, please stop. I don't want to go home with you." The boys aren't trained to hear that. The boys just think they need to keep pushing and eventually they'll get what they want.

TRP encourages that last part. TRP says unless a woman is screaming no at you and punching you, she actually means yes. TRP says it's better to assume no=yes than no=no. TRP says it's better to assume "yes" when the answer is hazy when statistically, that's not the case.

So, boys: If a woman has not unambiguously said yes to you, why do you keep pushing? So women: why the hell aren't you teaching yourself to say no?

So both: when is it that women can say no and not have men kill her, threaten her, or throw her dog out of an apartment building. Also, it's funny when a pickup artist flat out shoots someone in the face. Apparently his sexiness didn't keep a woman from pulling a knife on him, eh?
