You can find girls who are hotter than most female celebrities in any first world mall, college campus, or 3rd world slum. The whole 'celebrities are hot' thing is a sham. In fact, many of the ones who they say are incredibly attractive don't even look that good with their clothes on.

I also think that women tend to be more affected by the whole 'celebrities are attractive' phenomenon. Women are attracted to status, so if some man becomes a rich, famous and celebrated entertainer, he suddenly becomes more attractive to them than he was before he made it big.

I think society in general is legitimately outraged because someone stealing your data (in this case, photos) is a pretty shitty thing to do. I mean even if you're great looking naked, would you want people to post photos of you online? Of course not. I have a theory about this:

The crux of this thread is that famous women are just like normal women, but get a lot more sexual attention from men. Not all men, but a significant portion.

The men who like celebrity women do so only partially for their looks, and to a significant extent for their fame and social desirability. There are other factors of course, but these play a relatively bigger role in celebrity women than in other women.

This is a feminine mechanism of sexual attraction. Women are more attracted to fame and popularity than men are. (This has been scientifically verified in multiple studies)

I would be more willing to bet that the men who obsess over celebrity women, as opposed to lesser known women, tend to show more blue pill/beta/feminine traits (high 2D:4D ratio, left handedness, blue eyes if white, comparatively higher verbal than spatial intelligence, etc.)

I'd also be willing to bet that there's a good amount of overlap between these types of people, and the people that deny the basic evolutionary truths (inb4 "muh biotrooofs") that necessitate fundamental inequality of the genders.

Believe it or not, feminists are actually trying to create a world like this, but from a purely female perspective. They look to decouple a woman's worth from her sexuality. They theorize that this will decreases the destructive self-hatred in women, and rather spend their focus on constructive efforts.

Not all feminists are created equal. Some would argue that candid, untouched, and even nude photos of well known celebrities decreases the pressure put on young women to conform to impossible standards. Others might look at JLAW and say “god damn she’s hot,” and still feel inferior.
