Bro as long as you're having fun, you're attractive. I went clubbing and was the youngest guy there but I liked the music so much I was literally jumping around in circles for 4 hours. Girls were checking me out all night and so it was easy opens. Went clubbing last night as well, got blown out by 90% of the girls because I didn't look like I was having fun. The great interactions were where I was with my buddies just messing around and having a great time. So it's not about the best way to dance, but about how much fun you have. Go to places where you will enjoy the music, and go with some fun loving outgoing friends with similar interests as you. Make friends with all the guys there because it will allow you to meet more girls there and it's pure social proof that adds to the fun.

My favourite dance move is pointing my fingers in the air and spinning in a circle while hopping up and down. It's fun as fuck when the beat drops and it puts you in a not give a shit mindset.

I started practicing dancing almost a year and a half ago and I would encourage everyone to pick it up!

Before I get into how I dance, please allow me to share my own personal reasons why you should invest in this hobby/skill/passion for more than just hitting the nightclub. Sorry if some of them are not seduction related but I'm sure you could tie it in :)

Coordination - Improving coordination can drastically improve your confidence in your own abilities and quality of life (e.g. less clumsiness, more multitasking, ambidexterity).
Body Language/Posture - Improving your ability to move not only efficiently but stylistically and aesthetically pleasing can also have a drastic positive impact on how people perceive you and treat you. Dancing is about self expression. Improved posture and flexibility will also enhance your mood/health which brings me to my next point.
Fitness/Health - Dancing on a regular basis is a great, fun way to exercise, boost levels of serotonin, and release endorphins.
Social Applications - As mentioned in this thread, going to the club is a great example of a social application for dancing, along with parties, or whenever you're just hanging around with friends, it doesn't matter you can dance whenever you want. Dancing is contagious and if you practice you are more likely to be better than the average person that doesn't really give any thought to dancing, therefore, you should be able to show your moves more confidently and actually become more confident in general.
Sex - Not sure if you would consider this a social application but skills/strengths you obtain from dancing are transferable to making love. Not only will you be able to move with ease but you'll have a better understanding of rhythm which is apparent in more than just music.
Rhythm - Having good rhythm will allow you to make music visible and understand how to react better. Almost everything has rhythm in one way or another, even martial arts... which brings me to my next point...
Self Defense - Self defense is very important. Many of the best fighters are great dancers (e.g. Bruce Lee, Anderson Silva). There is a saying that you should learn how to fight so that you don't have to. When you feel strong and confident, you feel that you can protect yourself and your s/o will really appreciate feeling safe with you. Dancing skills are transferable to martial arts/self defense as well; the ability to move fluidly with purpose, rhythm, finesse, and power. Good fighting skills can actually improve all of the bullet points I'm listing as well but not as strongly in certain areas as dance and vice versa.
Creativity - Creating your own dance moves, improving existing ones, and adding your own personal style can change the way you think and allow you to use parts of your brain that might otherwise not be triggered. Left-handed people are more creative because they use the right side of their brain more(side responsible for creativity). Using different parts of your body in different ways can light up your brain in different places, resulting in better spatial thinking and creative problem solving. I have also noticed a significant improvement in my memory.

How I dance is a mixture of hip-hop, popping, animation, waving, and tutting. For the club this is good for when I'm dancing by myself to have a good time but of course there are grinding dances, yiking for example. Here are some videos from a few dancers that inspired me to pursue dancing:

I've been up all night and am exhausted sorry if I didn't convey my thoughts accurately!

TL;DR - Just dance all the time, you don't even need music! Have a beat in your head or just practice motions, poses, stretch, glides, spins, tutting, popping, grooving... you can do this anywhere, whenever. Make it a habit and you'll eventually feel very comfortable dancing, especially compared to other people that hardly dance.

Learning to dance can really nullify your need for game, in a night club. I've known plenty of guys with Zero game, but picked up women just based on dancing.

I think if you can learn to stay on beat, with a simple two step that's good enough. If a girl looks at you, grab her and bring her on the dance floor. If you're interested in dance, learn some moves. Dancing in some ways is a sexual tryout, so you should keep that in mind.

All excellent points so far. The true key is, as you state, enjoying yourself. You literally radiate happiness to others, which gets picked up by their mirror neurons, connecting through an emulation network that we share as a species in most situations.

People who actually look at you for any length of time can almost unconsciously call a small sub routine running in their mind of how it feels to be YOU. They are inspired to do this by wanting to emulate you, or connect with you, due to your social standing or some aspect of your presence, in this case your expression through dance.

If you are connected to your body, and to the music, and experiencing it in a consuming way, and experiencing the pleasure of that connection, people can see you doing that, and enjoy it through you, vicariously, by paying attention to their own minds emulation circuits.

Since you've already gotten into their head, it's that much easier to get other places. -yaknowwhatI'msayin'?

Sounds silly, but try to be friends with the guys around you. If you can show girls that you are the most popular guy in the room they will be drawn to you. This works because guys are not us to other guys talking to them.

I'm still trying to improve my game but when I go to night clubs I am always the coolest guy there. The trick is just to not give a shit and just start dancing. Pull your Michael Jackson moves or your hip hop moves or whatever and just have a great time. Don't wait for your friends to do it either. Girls always come up to me wanting to dance.
It seems silly but if you look around the club the majority of guys fall into two categories: 1) Dancing with girls already 2) Not dancing and just trying to look cool.

Standing there looking cool obviously isn't working for them so just go have a good time.

People want to be around people that have fun with life.

My friend and I collaborate fun dance moves together. They're usually on the spot at parties. Our recent "go-to" has been to "move like bernie" together when we hear the chorus of "Talk Dirty To Me" by Jason Derulo.

It's hysterical and everyone in the party gets hyped up by our dance. It builds the environment and gets people having fun, which is what we're all there to do anyway!

But there is one main point before all the advice about 'having fun'. The most important part is that you have to feel comfortable on the dancefloor/in the club. If you don't feel that then it will definitely prevent you from having fun or doing the things you want to.

And how do you feel comfortable in a club? t could be the friends you are going with. You have to feel comfortable in their company. Clothes and look means a lot. Not in the superficial way, but you have to feel that you are wearing clothes that you feel normal and comfortable in. If you aren't used to wear suits/tuxedos, then this will prevent you from being totally comfortable, guaranteed. Like wearing cap and hoodie in a nightclub where they main genre is jazz and the audience is 30+ (age). You WILL feel uncomfortable which will ruin things for you. Also haircut and hygiene can have an influence.

There is a lot of things playing a part in 'having fun' and 'feeling comfortable' in a club. And when you do start to feel this way, you will be more open, care less about what other people/girls think and move more freely. And most important - uncomfortableness can be seen in your face and attitude as a sign of insecureness. And we all know the story about girls and insecureness...

The 'steps' aren't that important. You can basically do every dance move (!) if you do it like 'you are aware about what you are doing' - if you know what I mean.

If you're serious about actually learning dance, find the styles you like, find people in your area to dance with, learn on Youtube, and practice.

That being said, the expectations for dancing in a club is nowhere as high as that. The key thing I've noticed is even if you don't know anything about dancing, all you have to do is be on the dance floor and move to the beat. Everybody can do a basic two step and rock back and forth on beat so I always tell people who are intimidated to start there. Bonus points for being the first person out there and really starting the party. :)

You already have the right attitude about dancing in a club though. So as far as moves, I'm into hip hop (mainly popping) so some moves I'd recommend are the running man, the old man, arm waves, body waves. Look into Electric Boogaloo for some really funky stuff. (I love the legs, hips and chest rolls personally) Otis Funkmeyer does a really good job of teaching the basics for popping/boogaloo type dance. Also, locking is a really awesome bouncy and fun style. This guy has some really basic tutorials for some locking moves if you're into it. Or you could become a bboy and spin around on the floor like a badass. :p Find a style that clicks with you and delve into it. Or just get a feel for it and snag some moves.

But honestly? Most of the time I'm just improvising and making stuff up. People keep asking me where I learn or get my moves from when the reality is it's a mixture of some knowledge but mainly just making it up as I go along. Even when you lean a particular foundation for a style, you still need that creativity to make it your own. Just have fun, be creative, and keep doing what you're doing :)

This has been my biggest weak spot...almost a source of anxiety, which is why I totally avoid the clubs. My problem is, I simply do not enjoy the music. If they played motown, or even some good 80s stuff, I'd enjoy it. But I just can't get past how (in my opinion, I know people here will disagree) lame dance club music is. It is predictable, lacks melody, and only is there to provide a repetitive pulse. I'm not a good enough actor to even get close to seem like I'm having a good time.

Look into partner dancing classes in your area

Swing dancing, Contact improv, Salsa

Learn how to dance with 1 girl and you'll have the rest lining up...plus being taught how to dance by a professional in a calmer space than a party will leave you with lifetime of dance moves...I was taught some basic swing moves in 6th grade and still use them to woo the gals on the dance floor...

Oh, and learning how to dance sexy without it being sexual...there is a special energy created when two people dance..learn to tap into that and dance for the sake of dancing...not to get into their pants...that part, if appropriate, will happen by itself...good luck out there

Trust me on this. NAPALT. Yes, most are, but you dancing guys are assuming everyone experiences things like you. Some don't. I've put in effort. I don't recognize songs like the average person. Can't sing the lyrics to pretty much any song. I don't feel music doesn't mean I can't move to the beat. Although, that doesn't come as easy to me as some others. What I mean is moving to music doesn't feel fun. It's like if someone told you to randomly open and close a cabinet door continuously. You look around and everyone else looks like they're having a blast opening and shutting the doors, but you just don't feel it. It feels dumb and pointless. That's my dancing experience unfortunately.

It can be hard for some of us though. Like I personally do ballroom, swing, and latin. Whenever I go to clubs or frat parties on my campus, I find it really hard to just get up and dance because I'm not at all used to the music or really vague style of dancing there (usually it's like techno or dubstep or some other sort of electronic music being played). Any tips or advice for someone who isn't all that great at just "letting loose"?

The way I dance is I go to the middle of the dance floor, surrounded by everyone (mostly hot girls), put my arm in the air, make a light fist, start wagging and pumping my arm to the beat, and to round it all out I jump up and down as I'm doing this
