Dating apps: The girl chooses you based on your appearance
Approaching girls: You choose the girl you want to talk to based on her appearance
You tell me

They are the same thing tho results wise.

Your spam for that guide is really annoying. How many accounts do you even have?
[–]ResponsibilityKey427 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link
Not rly. The success percentage is roughly the same.
Game doesn’t initiate attraction.
She is either attracted to you or isn’t.
Game does help seal the deal but other than that it doesn’t add to the attraction
[–]FakeSafeWord 6 points7 points8 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
No way man. I can do and have done 10 times better with IRL game than on apps. Every single time I met someone from an app they said I look way more attractive in person. I'm just not photogenic and I am charming which doesn't come across in the apps.
If I meet them in person I have a slightly lesser chance of taking them home the same day but my overall success rate is higher so my chance of taking someone home is higher in general.
[–]nordik1 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
But irl allows you to display more aspects that women are attracted to. Women can fall in love with a guys charisma, voice, smell, general way he carries himself, smile etc etc…even the fucking way you walk. They’re way more diverse in that sense than we are with the things that can hook them. Dating apps don’t allow you to display a lot of these things so you’re immediately at a disadvantage. It would be like women only being allowed to post face pics online and not being able to leverage the rest of their body that may attract us to them (waist, tits, long legs, flat stomach, ass..whatever body features you find sexually attractive as a man)
[–]ResponsibilityKey427 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
Lol you can’t compare personality to physical attractive traits.
What do you think is more important?
Height or funniness?
If you were shorter than the girl, let’s say 5’6 she 5’7, it won’t matter how funny you are.
[–]nordik1 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
You're addressing something different entirely, but I'll bite.
It'll matter if she prioritizes humor over height on the scale of importance. Posts like this miss the point that each girl has a their own priorities on what constitutes attractiveness, and those things are also fluid depending on her past experiences, current life situation, and emotional state. That's why its important that you as a man be able to display as many of your traits as possible (in person) to improve your chances of success.
I will also say that this general theory of being Chad the model on a dating app being a great thing is missing a huge part of the picture. There are plenty of downsides to that as well
[–]ResponsibilityKey427 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
How is there downside?
Also that kinda ruins your argument, if girls cares more about personality,
Then why do good looking men get swiped on more than the ugly dude?
[–]Separate_Taste3428 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Completely agree if she wants you then she’ll have you, if she doesn’t then she wont
[–]ThatGuy_Nick9 6 points7 points8 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
To be fair, your personality is going to be more intriguing than your face
[–]RActuary96 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
The fact is: no matter how interesting your personality is, on dating apps you will have the appeareance bias, and the girl may not be matching with you because you are not attractive in the traditional sense.
[–]RickyRiccardos 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Wow didn’t even realise that even though it’s so blatantly obvious haha 🤯🤯 And how much more satisfying is it when you make the first move in person. You really do feel like a man…
[–]RActuary96 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
The same feeling that primitive men must have felt when they got fire for the first time.
[–][deleted] 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
[–]ResponsibilityKey427 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Exactly, it’s not like the short ugly guy will get crazy good results from cold approaching.
It’s not some hidden secret, if it were true, every guy would be doing it.
[–]BangaiiWatchman 24 points25 points26 points 4 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
Actually tinder released some internal data on this showing that the average man only matches with 1% of the women they like. Bumble and hinge probably aren’t much different.
https://twitter.com/stevestuwill/status/1441432248054599683?s=21&t=ZJpRbkUzOvguH5WQRhTGwA
So yeah seems like a bit of a time waster.
[–]the-dan-man 12 points13 points14 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
I remember the golden days of when tinder first came out. You would install it and swipe right on every girl, and by the end of the day I usually had 50+ matches. Now I get maybe 1-2. Tinder changed. It's bad now. These things happen to everything when they get too big.
[–]BangaiiWatchman 5 points6 points7 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Exactly! When it first came out I think it was actually just randomized swiping on people in your area. Now the algorithm scores you based on how many likes you have. It's a bummer. Every update it just gets worse and worse.
[–]MeWuzBornIn1990 17 points18 points19 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Use it as a supplement to going out irl and meeting people.
[–]BangaiiWatchman 28 points29 points30 points 4 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link
I think if you’re really attractive as a man it will work well for you. If your an average looking guy you’ll just get left swiped into the void.
[–]External12 24 points25 points26 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Thanks to dating apps, I don't know if I'm attractive anymore.
Oof how bout it buddy.
[–][deleted] 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
[–]BangaiiWatchman 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
No, that's true. I don't doubt some people do have success on it. But I think the ones that do are the outliers not the trend sadly. Or maybe it's just me which is even more depressing ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
[–]ThatGuy_Nick9 21 points22 points23 points 4 years ago (8 children) | Copy Link
Not a waste if you like your time there
[–][deleted] 4 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link
[–]ReorgAtty 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link
I’m just saying Idt I’m top even 15% and I’ve had success
[–]TooMuchJibberish 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link
With good looking girls?
[–]ThatGuy_Nick9 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I match with good looking girls quite often. I don’t get to go out with all of them, but every now and again I do.
[–]ReorgAtty 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
Yeah, not super model caliber by any means, but definitely hot. Bartender complimented me on the last one, so that was a good sign lol
[–]TooMuchJibberish 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
You're probably very good looking if you're getting compliments by random bartenders then (I'm assuming bartender is a girl)
[–]ReorgAtty 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Oh no lol I meant the male bartender complimented me on the girl I was with - like said she’s hot. I’m probably slightly above average at best in terms of looks.
[–]TooMuchJibberish 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Ah I see
[–]Pedalcrunch 39 points40 points41 points 4 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
Fat girls want all guys to be over 6' with a six pack and face like Brad Pitt.
[–][deleted] 4 points5 points6 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Most guys are exactly the same, so many losers thinking there’s a 10 waiting on them
[–]66VALHALLA66 4 points5 points6 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Very hypocritical hahahaha
[–]Markyy47 7 points8 points9 points 4 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link
Well a lot just advertise their OF and IG and if you think they’re wasting your time just ignore or tell them you’re not interested
[–]steegyy 11 points12 points13 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
I am average looking. Hasn't been a full waste of time but mostly. I have pulled for dates and hook ups a few times but way more often at bars or lively places. I get alot more action on hinge and bumble but they usually are.looking for dates or relationships.
[–]the-dan-man 5 points6 points7 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Yeah bumble is way way easier for getting dates but it's full of women who have hit the wall or are tired of casual sex via tinder.
[–]punisher1005 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Jesus that’s a lot of misspelling.
[–]Nullroute127 12 points13 points14 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
It mostly depends. I've gotten dates and more from online dating.
However, my primary assets are my intellect, wit, humor, and ability to get into heads that doesn't come across fully in the apps. I'm not tall nor have a six pack, nor can I flex being a doctor/attorney/other high status position that travels the world.
What I've found the apps primarily useful for is training:
Basically, don't take online dating too seriously. Use it as a dating sandbox where you're willing to mix things up until they explode, but if you happen to create something cool out of it you're pleasantly surprised.
[–]DoctorForesight 5 points6 points7 points 4 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
In the past year, I've gotten laid a grand total of 5 times from dating apps. And considering that I'm fairly good looking and was extremely aggressive with it (paying the maximum for Tinder, using an auto-swipe app, accepting any female no matter how unattractive she was), either I'm just really unlucky or they suck.
[–]Canadian-Seductioner 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
Yeah you're definitely doing it wrong if those are your results. In the past 12 months, I've slept with a total of 28 different (attractive) girls from dating apps without paying a single cent for any of them.
[–]DoctorForesight 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
You're probably a lot more experienced than me. I only lost my virginity a year ago. To a hooker 😒
[–]Canadian-Seductioner 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Oof, yeah I mean 5 is still a lot better than most guys here can say, but yeah if you're good looking, you can definitely kill it on the apps provided you have a good profile.
[–]FlanneryODostoevsky 4 points5 points6 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Try asking them out sooner and base your idea of a date in something they mention in their profile, have in their pictures, or something that comes up in conversation. And of course don’t rely on it. If you rely on it it will fuck with your confidence and have you thinking there’s no one for you. That’s a lie.
[–]homelessfish22 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
It’s good for physically attractive dudes. If you’re hot you’re going to have an easier time. But, even then, you still have to deal with playing pen pal with a bunch of disposable faces on the internet. Yours included, even if you are quite attractive. Remember you’re not the only hot guy in the world.
If you aren’t a model, don’t even bother using it.
If your patience threshold is low then I would advise you to redirect your energy elsewhere.
Real life is always better. Whether you’re a chad or McLovin.
[–]wont_give_no_kreddit 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I bagged a couple heiffers, not my proudest lays but it was worth the 0.001% success rate!
[–][deleted] 4 years ago [recovered] (1 child) | Copy Link
ignore anyone saying you have to be be hot to be successful on a dating app. it helps, obviously, but if you have a good profile, with interesting pictures (good lighting, paints you in a positive light, lets her imagine having fun with you) and a confident bio that does the same, you'll do fine.
Precisely. Some people just don't want to put in the work.
[–]Derpakiinlol 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Idk I'm talking to two really quality girls rn on hinge
If you can be witty with the opener you can have really good success on there
47% (84) of all my lays are from dating apps, so no, they most definitely aren't a waste of time.
[–]silkPJson 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Am a girl. Can confirm.
[–]getyahfuckingyeeted 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Yes they are a complete and utter waste of time.
[–]Parstar 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
im decently attractive and it works pretty well for me
[–]ResponsibilityKey427 -1 points0 points1 point 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Great for hookups.
If you have a good profile that is.
[–]stephanienyc108 -1 points0 points1 point 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
For me looking for something serious, huge waste of time.
[–]MudFlaky 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I don't think it's totally worthless but definitely don't rely solely on the apps
[–]Consistent-Count-890 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
A lot of people use dating apps for an ego boost honestly. Best to use a dating app when you don’t want a relationship.
[–]cass2769 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Some people are looking for attention and some people are looking for real connection. There are ways to maximize your time and not waste time on dating apps but most people don’t do that.
[–]xtaminophen 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
You need to follow rule number 1 and 2 in the dating app to be successful
[–]Slaysta 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
It depends what you’re looking for. In my experience, tinder is for hookups, whereas Hinge was better for dates/actually getting to know people. I was on dating apps for about 3 months. I ended up meeting this girl and we’ve been dating about 6 months now. It can work, but it also takes effort. It truly is a numbers game.
[–]originalgainster 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Usually but I did get some lays and a couple relationships out of them.
[–]YoMiner 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Sure, but most girls at the bar/gym/grocery store/school/wherever else you go aren't available either. You only get a fraction of the population anywhere you go. Being on dating apps only takes as much time as you want it to.
[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Good for ONS, wouldn’t start a serious relationship with a tindergirl
[–]controversial_parrot 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
If you're well above average in looks you'll do fine on a dating app. If you're average, better in person where you can attract her in other ways.
[–]CRDLEUNDRTHESTR 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Depends on where you live but 8/10 times yeah
[–]ReorgAtty 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I’ve had pretty good success just using tinder casually. Very low effort. But I’m in nyc, so that’s probably a big factor.
Yeah it's just free entertainment / validation
[–]blue_barracuda 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
It's okay to do passively if you're killing time, but not the basket you want to put all your eggs into.
[–]Scorpnite 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Tinder has consistently been cheap lays. Bumble is where I’ve found quality
[–]richsreddit 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
It isn't a full waste of time because there are potential results depending on your situation but at the same time it is not a method that you want to rely on primarily when it comes to meeting women.
[–]Billyjeanisntmylover 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
A lot of girls are on there for attention but that's why you need to be cognizant of the matter, and have low investment nor expectations - when I use this approach, I usually get good results from dating apps. However, I am not to fond of dating apps, which is why I prefer meeting women IRL.
[–]elweydereddit 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I found my wife through bumble and before her multiple flings
No regrets
[–]Sandvicheater 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
What gives you better odds? Gambling on a slot machine (dating apps) or approaching irl girls (counting cards on blackjack)
[–]spoonyspadina 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
as a girl, i will say the attention is nice. but if i feel a connection with the guy through text—i’ll meet him! i met my bf on tinder and i couldn’t be happier!
[–]cormacru999 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Here's the thing, if they were useless, why would they exist? That just doesn't make sense. More importantly, you want us to support your idea that women just want attention, but why would they need a dating app for that? Couldn't they just use their social media? Couldn't they make an Onlyfans & get paid for attention? Of course they could!
So the thing you need to work on is why you think this about women, & perhaps its your attitude & interior belief system that's turning women away from you.
[–]Ecstatic-Factor4712 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Them dating apps are cash cows... They want all this money and you get nothing
[–]yoon1ac 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Dont forget these dating apps mostly allow for bots and catfish accounts because they make money on you paying to see matches. So even if you get matches, they are likely fake accounts. That’s not even considering most people want to waste your time. Better to develop skills or hobbies that would help you seek a partner out in person.
