As I always say, the male equivalent of a girl with a perfect ass and tits who flaunts it is a guy who has an outrageously fun lifestyle. That's why you can't take the female strategy to dating, which is all about external appearances, like clothes, hair, skincare, gym, etc, but be a boring no life loser. OLD apps can be gamed and optimized for your success, but at the same time, I feel like daygame is far superior in just about every way. You get access to a much larger pool of women, these women are often higher quality, your competition is much lower (since most guys don't do daygame), you don't have to match with them to talk to them, there's potential for instant dates, and you get to easily convey your personality.

Men who want abundance in their dating life should do both daygame and OLD. I just feel like OLD often leads to men punching below their weight and women becoming far more selective than they would be irl. A 7 guy might mostly match with 5s on Tinder, while he could approach and actually have a shot with 8s & 9s irl since daygame is such a distinguishing method of approach.

Yeah this has always been my biggest hurdle with OLD, I've always been the guy behind the camera (was even the school photographer back in HS) because I just feel so awkward having my picture taken, leaving me with very few decent pictures of me (most are selfies which make me feel even more awkward) which sucks cause the few girls I did match with really seemed to enjoy my bios so I must be doing something right in that regard

100%. Basically all my photos are of me doing fun/interesting things or being in interesting places. For instance, one of them is me dancing a Latin dance with a pretty girl while I'm wearing a suit and her a traditional dress. Another is me holding a cute puppy. Another is me canoeing. Another is me holding two huge beers at a beer garden in Germany. And another is me standing in front of a beautiful mountainous backdrop.

Essentially, I give the impression that I'm a fun, interesting guy to be around and as a result, girls want to be around me. My bio also further enhances that impression by talking about who I am and the things I love to do. Only my first photo is a selfie to clearly showcase what my face looks like, but even that selfie is taken in front of a beautiful coastline.

Any ideas how to appear to be fun when you don't have any money? Or being photographed looking fun when you don't have local friends? I am boring as shit but I'm in school and struggle to find work so I'm broke, which is a very bad look as a middle-aged guy in a wealthy city.

I'm getting way more Tinder matches than I was pre-pandemic (2-3 a week compared to 2-3 a year), but my problem is they unmatch as soon as I open my mouth. Can't seem to get past the 1st message.

I think you make some good points. But the pictures with other girls on them can backfire. I do ok on tinder for a woman 10,000 + likes within 2 weeks and I almost never swipe a guy that has a picture with another woman on it. I keep thinking “is that an ex, girlfriend or best friend”. I would not put any pics with other females in a profile unless it’s with a large groep of friends and some happen to be women.

A week or two ago, someone asked for a profile review of their Tinder over on r/tinder. His profile was already well-tailored and got 1000’s of upvotes and a ton of awards and people preaching the fun, charismatic, openly inviting depth to his pics. He was in a lot of different places doing different things.

And you could barely see his face. And from what I could see, guy was like a 6.

He had in sunglasses in half his pics and not one straight on face shot. But women were commending him left and right.

Tinder is designed for women to have options, not so for men. If he's a very attractive man, he can do well on tinder, but if and only if he's extremely attractive, as in like a model.

I'm 6-3, former NCAA athlete, educated, hung, and literally none of that shit mattered. I met like 1 women on tinder and actually had sex in over 5+ years of intermittently swiping.

However...

I can go to a music festival or EDM club and will trip over 3 hot young women with daddy issues that want to jump my bones walking to the bathroom.

In the swinger scene, I'm very popular....so at a certain point, one must conclude that it isn't just about me or my pics but the method and way I'm doing something that matters.

If you don't have a lot of money, what are some cool, "fun" things to have in your life that make people want to be a part of it? I don't have the means to travel, so I can't do travel pics. Don't have a car, so I can't get out to any scenic hiking spots and take photos of me on top of a mountain or whatever (ironic how you need a car in order to participate in a hobby that is essentially just "walking"). I live in a place that's landlocked and cold most of the year, so no surfing pics or pictures of me on a boat (and I don't have the means to travel to a place with beaches). Skydiving is out of my price range at the moment.

I mean, I don't think I'm a boring person, and I do have hobbies, but that's not what would attract people on a surface level through photos. They want to see exhilarating things. I can't think of any of those things that are currently within my means to do, which I think is a main reason why I haven't ever tried online dating and rely on cold approach instead. I just don't think I can compete through photos amongst a sea of men.

There's gotta be something, though. It must be a failure of my imagination preventing me of thinking of cool shit to do that I can put in photos. Because even if my actual hobbies (reading about science, seeing live music, playing guitar, doing photography, sketching) are worthwhile and interesting hobbies, they're not Tinder-bait hobbies.
