I've long said that there are three phases for male dating "strategy." They are as follows.

  1. A man likes a girl, so he's nice to said girl in order to win her affection. Depending on his attractiveness and social status, this may go well for quite some time. Indeed, many men never get past this phase. Some never need to; other's just can't seem to be able to. Eventually, though, most guys run into a situation where this doesn't work. This results in the oft-encountered "friend-zone" or similar situations.

  2. Having experienced a "friend-zone" or similar set-up, a man looks at his competition and notices that the guy who won the object of his affection may not seem to appreciate her. Baffled, he begins to actually strategize about how he might go about winning a woman's affections. It is at this stage that he is likely to discover things like "Game," or "The Red Pill," or other similar material. There are many ardent followers of these concepts, and not all of these philosophies are entirely incorrect. However, I would argue that these "Red Pill" types are not masters of seduction.

  3. Enter Phase III. This is a phase that, I believe, very few people ever really reach when it comes to dating or any other endeavor. This phase, when applied to dating, is where a man no longer cares at all about attracting a mate. He cares about becoming whatever it is he wishes to be. His mind and body are dedicated to the pursuit of an interest, an art, a science, a sport, a career, or some combination of these (or other) things. Attracting and pleasing a mate is secondary, or tertiary, to these pursuits.

I am here to advocate that all men who come here seeking advice, or who turn to "The Red Pill" or similar material, dispense with the intricacies of such strategies. It is not that they won't work; they may indeed result in you getting laid, or even scoring a mate. But, in the end, it was the technique that worked--not you.

If you instead focus on becoming what you want to be, and care not one bit about what some silly broad (or brah) thinks, then you will transform yourself in ways that will ultimately make you far more attractive than any "game" can hope to do. Even better, it will make you attractive to the right people--those who share your interests and goals.

As your skill and knowledge in your particular areas of interest grow, you cannot help but to become more confident. You don't need game, because you actually know what the fuck you are talking about! Posers and pretenders will suddenly become very apparent to you. Should you choose, you can strip them of their facade when they are careless enough to tread into your domain of expertise.

In short, while the tactics of Phase II may work, I would argue that they are tools to be used by those who are lacking in knowledge and skill of true substance. If your time is precious to you, as mine is to me, why waste it studying something that is only designed to be illusory, when you can instead use it to gain mastery of something with far more meaning and use?
