‘I’m such a cool girl, I’m super fine with encouraging my man to behave like a perve, creeping on other chicks. Who needs self esteem or respect from my partner? Not me!’

Your man should have eyes only for you, or he’s not your man and you toss him to the curb 🙌🏻
When I was younger a bf said to me ‘but men are visual creatures’ so I loudly called him a creature in public every time he eye checked someone around me 😂 the behaviour (and the boyfriend) didn’t last very long

He well now "she" gaslit me so bad with it all that i couldnt even do my school work. Then my last fwb was bold enough to have me at the girls house he was also fucking but denied it. I went to her house to show her cause the post went viral (she told me that he was seeing her too since feb *lied to my face and said he was only seeing me). he poorly attempted us to compete for him. Thats ok caused hes got a federal bench warrant for back child support. I told him not to fuck with me. Yeah fuck all that. You get what you give

Yep. It would be a "It would be such a hassle to actually divorce you, but I feel no sexual or emotional attraction to you. Please go chase after other women, just don't fucking ask me to have sex with you" type of thing.

My ex wanted to see other women (while also having no sex drive with me????) and said he had too much social anxiety and needed my help (I like open relationships and I have specific rules around them... but he legit failed all my boundaries.... we broke up).
My current man I have everything and more. It’s safe to have that relationship cuz our hearts belong at home. 🤷🏻♀️ when you know you know. And I’ve tried to find an open relationship with my ideals for years and the men just don’t fit, you can tell when they have ulterior motives.

I was on r/askwomen once and the question had something to do with men ogling women in public. This annoying cool girl starts blathering on about how she's bi and therefore LOVES objectifying women with her husband, including an example if where she pointed out a woman's giant boobs for her and her husband to giggle at. As a busty girl the comment basically made me see red. Women don't exist to be objectified, and it's not any ~cooler~ or more progressive when another woman does it. In fact, it's even more disgusting because they usually know how it feels.
[–][deleted] 80 points81 points82 points 6 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

Good god. That sub is also a cesspool. There was one young (19 year old) woman who posted about whether her obviously controlling 30 something year old boyfriend was displaying red flags. He blatantly had all the hallmarks of an abuser-- moving way too fast, incessantly contacting her, making huge promises after only eight weeks. One of the top gold comments was "don't worry, sweetie, at age 32 he knows what he wants!" As if her needs or wants meant nothing, and that his desires were the only things that SHE should have been worried about. Any of the posters who pointed out he was showing red flags were argued with non-stop or down-voted to oblivion. The mods kept deleting my comments. It was ridiculous.

They're all over Tinder too. You'll think you're swiping/chatting with a girl and then suddenly she pulls out the "I have a boyfriend teehee" and it turns out she wants you to enact some 'lesbian' porno fantasy for him 🙄 A lot of rapists/serial killers also used a woman to make themselves seem less threatening (Paul Bernardo and Karla Homolka, for example, or Fred and Rose West)
[–]Ramsden_12FDS Newbie28 points29 points30 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Exactly this. I’ve got large breasts too and strangers seem to think it’s ok to ogle or talk to me about them in overly sexual terms. A former colleague once told me the director of the office called him into his office to ask if he’d noticed my breasts that day. They’re fucking body parts, attached to a fucking human, for fucks sake!
This ‘pick me’ woman in the comic says ‘oh look at that one’ - it’s not even oh look at her, or oh look at that person and her amazing costume. It’s so objectifying and dehumanising to the pikachu woman.
[–]hoIds_up_sporkFDS Disciple15 points16 points17 points 6 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link
Yes! I constantly have to police my body to make sure people don't get the 'wrong idea' about me because women with big boobs aren’t people – we’re just b-mbos and fuckdolls for public consumption, right? I graduated from uni last summer and when I was job hunting, sometimes it would take me hours to find clothes that were just right. Too tight and you’re a sl-t and people accuse you of fucking your way into the job. Too loose and you’re frumpy or sloppy. Things that look wholesome and stylish on small-busted girls look straight up pornographic on me, and somehow that’s my (our) fault? It’s considered socially unacceptable to comment on ANY OTHER people’s body parts in public – can you imagine pointing and laughing at every woman with small boobs? Or everyone with big feet? Or everyone with grey hair? Yet big boobs are open season! Everyone gets to comment! We’re constantly hypersexualized to the point where everyone assumes that we’re always being into objectified and these pick mes and their pervy boyfriends are just perpetuating that. The way they treat us is just another example of the normalization of porn and porn culture.

My ex did this to me once. An acquaintance of his, let's call her Meghan, came over to say hello and introduce herself. She brought a friend over as she did so. My ex proceeds to mention that Meghan has a long distance boyfriend and she plays piano... and then about how her torso and her legs look like they belong to two different people. He went off on how big her ass is and how it contrasts the top half of her body, which is smaller. He basically went on a tangent, complete with motions and sound effects, about how hot her ass is. The entire time the other girls and I just stood with uncomfortable fake grins. I can't imagine she talked to him much after that. Everyone except him was unbelievably uncomfortable. Why did I go out with him for another year? Why did I let someone treat me like that? Because it was my first relationship and society (including comics like these) had taught me that 'cool girls' win the guy. Cool girls suck it up. Cool girls play along.

Pick me's love to throw other women under the bus. They have very deep internalized misogyny.
A lot of pick me's have ambiguous morality. Pick me's choose depraved men because they themselves have a capacity for being depraved.
An extreme pick me would be a woman letting a man sexually abuse her children, because she doesn't want the man to leave. More extreme-- blaming her child for "taking" her man.
There are women out there like this.

As I work in group homes... you’re absolutely right. And I hear those children sob to me on why their mother has to be with someone who won’t even wait at the store for 5 mins while we were heading there to meet up and the mom was only in town for a day. Legit saw him drive away. She sobbed her face off. Not the only family but this dude gives no fucks about family relationships. And while this kid wasn’t sexually abused he did man handle her arm at one point and kick her outta the apartment (to be fair... under the influence of drugs... but she got a giant bruise from it).

[–]ThrowAway666xDFDS Newbie17 points18 points19 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
It’s a common term on this sub, used to refer to women that have a desperate attitude for a partner that they will accept bad behaviour from men. Kinda like a kid that wants to be chosen in a game being desperate and yelling “pick me!”

I have a healthy mix of both but considering I follow ethical non-monogamy and I am into kink... it’s really not the same.
I think it’s okay to appreciate a sexy body but I don’t think it’s healthy to be ogling anyone disrespectfully in the presence of your partner (or towards the person being ogled). Additionally not being a raging bitch about it either. Have some class and pull him aside and keep it simple do the I feel statements “I feel disrespected when you ogle other women, it’s okay to appreciate a nice body but you’re spending your time with me and it’s not appropriate to be staring at others”, Men like to save face and not be humiliated; it’s a double edged sword too if you’re loud about it because you clearly don’t show respect for yourself when you show everyone your temperament and insecurity issues.
