Y'all I'm still stunned and yes I'm gushing on this post but bear with me because I'm so happy.

I was with a LVM for 6 years and he never went out of his way to make Valentines day special. I never received a single flower or gift, it was always just another day. Maybe a trip to a chain restaurant if he felt up to it.

I've been seeing someone new for a few months now and it's been going well. Yet and still I was nervous.

He texted me early to wish me a Happy Valentine's and to remind me of our dinner plans. He showed up on time dressed to the nines with a dozen roses, a bear and chocolates and told me I looked perfect.

He didn't tell me where we going so it would be a surprise. When we got to the restaurant they led us to a gorgeous room covered in stained glass panels with small intimate tables scattered in rose petals and candles with screens between the tables for privacy, a man playing a piano for ambience in the corner and tasteful decorations for the holiday.

We had delicious food, drinks and ended it with a glass of champagne and lemon cake which he remembered was my favorite so suggested it. We talked and laughed and held hands frequently between eating.

It was magical.

Effort reflects interest is so so true. It was hands down one of the most memorable experiences I've had. I felt cherished.

I'll never accept anything less again! Thank you FDS for helping me realize I deserve this!

Edit: Thank you for all the love! I hope everyone had a wonderful day as well! Funny thing is we met on Tinder right before I was about to delete the app for good. ☺
