I just finished watching Love is blind Japan after watching the US version, and the first thing that stood out to me is the vetting process.

In the US version, I felt like none of the couples really discussed what's like to be married, what their expectations are, etc. It seemed like they did not take marriage as a serious matter at all. Especially men. And I felt like the women are easily swept away by the love bombing, and they are just hoping that the marriage will magically work out.

In the Japan version, the women are seriously focused on vetting, even cautious if they are being loved bombed. They ask direct questions about work, children, households, and chores. They are not worried about being cool and getting picked. They are actually trying to get to know the men so they can decide if they are compatible and if he'll be a good husband. They are also acting like the prize they are.

One instance in particular stood out to me: one of the men was always on his computer when they were on a getaway. So, the women took notice and expressed her concern to the other women. One of whom asked her if she communicated with him, and the woman responded that it doesn't matter because she already made up her mind that it's not going to work out.

I mean both shows have a lot of cringy moments, and I don't know how the culture in Japan is like, but I felt like the women in Japan seemed HV, or at least not pickmes.

Did anyone watch it ? What are your thoughts?
