As a Canadian, the government should first work on fixing our economy and making life more affordable. Some people in Canada like myself want kids but can't afford them. Getting mail-order brides would not fix the issue of affordability. The issue isn't that people don't want kids, many people simply can't afford it. Most young people here can't afford rent, let alone a whole child.

Men are still afraid that these women are going to become feminists once they immigrate and assimilate, divorce them and take their money, and then either have fun with other men or take the money they get from their divorce back home with them. I'm not sure how encouraging foreign immigrants will make men who fundamentally distrust women trust and like them more.

Passport bros actually encourage men to emigrate to the foreign countries and then just date or have sex with the women but not marry them, I believe.

I'm an Eastern European woman who moved to Canada because my husband is Canadian, and let me tell you, I haven't popped out a bunch of kids now that I'm in The West. Shit is expensive and unless you're gonna force those foreign ladies to have kids regardless of whether they and their western hubbies can afford to, you're not gonna get all that many more kids out there.

Most people want kids, but they're aware of how expensive everything is. A foreign vagina won't make diapers or rent cheaper.

People don’t need to encourage or discourage. It’s already a thing, a lot of the sites are scams. Some are legit. More people would prefer to have a partner from their own country with similar cultural and the same first language.

There is no benifit to this. If you want to preserve your own culture, increase birth rates. If you don't, bring in immigrants to work. Bringing in immigrants to have babies to become futire workers is the second option, except with the added HUGE cost of educating and supporting them through childhood.

They should just move towards capitalism instead of away from it generally, so life will be better now and in the future. People will be able to more easily afford kids and have a positive view of the future that will make it more likely they’ll have kids. Moving towards capitalism would also include making it easier to immigrate generally, which would include making it easier to marry a foreigner. But people shouldn’t be using the police, military and jail system to encourage people to get mail order brides no more than the government shouldn’t be encouraging people to follow a particular religion.

Lol this entirely neglects the reality that half the reason the birthrate is in decline is because of Men. Plenty of Men don't want more than 2 kids and a growing number of men don't want kids or marriage

The issue is a lot of countries have low birth rates and to make matters worse eastern countries have a major gender ratio problem were with the invention and the ease of access of ultrasounds to determine a baby’s gender baby boys were valued and kept where as baby girls were aborted.

Also there isn’t a law banning mail order brides. If you can afford to take that route and can find a willing bride you are free to do so. Mainly though men are usually more likely to immigrate than women because women traditionally take care of their parents so having a traditional woman move to the west will require the man to help pay/care for her parents in most cases.

Also I do have to ask what makes you think women want to immigrate to the west and marry local men? The men in the west are fatter, usually unable and I’m willing to speak her main language thus learning English will be pushed on her, unable to afford a traditional family lifestyle where the wife stays home to care for the kids and household so she will have to do all the feminine roles and half the masculine, different cultural beliefs and maybe practice different religions etc. There really isn’t much reason for women to move to the west especially since men in the east are finally starting to understand how limited and rare women in their own country are. I’m not sure if men in the west can compete with men in the east.

We just need to figure out a way to appeal to foreign women, create some special programs like “ are you’re family and friends pushing you towards an arranged marriage that you aren’t interested in, well we’ve got a special Canadian program for you “ and boom 😃

Most people want to have kids with someone who looks like them and thinks like them. Exceptions of course apply but I don’t think foreign spouses will ever the the norm.

Even if this were to become a thing it would be a short-term solution because you would quickly depopulate the country the women emigrated from. Look at birth rates in the developing world, they are down sharply just about everywhere.

Sounds like great justification for keeping a population politically insecure, like the current system of destroying countries for their resources including their workers, and bringing them here to allow their lower positions make them vulnerable to exploitation. This is why here in Canada we refuse to give migrant workers permanent residency. It keeps them in a position where they only earn as much as we’re willing to give them, no matter how much they provide, because they lack the protections of permanent residents and citizens.

How would you convince these women to stay without destabilizing their home countries? What policies would have to be enacted to stop them from exercising the same rights non Immigrant women to do that have lowered birth rates?

Their families often come later. If you're truly concerned about birth rates you can make it easier for people to bring the children they already have rather than rely on fate to make them. Or at the very least helping young couples immigrate would be a better plan.

Birth rates are collapsing world wide, so that won't help. But it would be a semi-practical stop gap and a funny turn of events.
