Using a Period cup grounds for breakup?

Uh...do you think women are literally carrying blood around in these cups? Like, after it's removed from their body? Because that's not how it works.

Menstruating women have three options (aside from "free bleeding," but I'm not going to go there): pads, tampons, or cups. They all collect blood to be disposed of later. I don't see how the instrument used makes a difference, and I certainly don't see how it's any of your business or grounds for a breakup.

Hate to break it to you, but a menstruating woman is always "carrying blood around" in some way or another. If you can't handle that, maybe you shouldn't date women.

I don't understand. Do you mean like a divacup or something? Or do you mean like emptying a divacup into another cup and carrying that cup around to like throw at people? If you mean a divacup, you're being pretty immature, but you're obviously welcome to break up with anyone for any reason you see fit. I would have a super hard time being in a relationship with someone who couldn't handle the fact that women bleed.

I'm sorry, I don't think you understand the usage of a menstrual cup. It is, in fact, the most sanitary, efficient, hassle-free and economically favorable option on the market. I figure that I probably use, ehhh, 7 or 8 pads and maybe 10 or so tampons per period, which occur every 28 days, not including rogue periods that go on a good deal longer or have heavier flow. That probably puts me at a little shy of $12 per period with about 13-15 periods per year, which means I spend a little over $150 on period products every year.

OR. I could buy a menstrual cup (which have a lifespan of at least 2 or so years, I've had mine for 6 months and it's good as new) for $25 dollars and minimal hassle and risk of leakage! It's really a no-brainer. In fact, you should be dumping the tampon girl, since she really needs to get her money in order.

Technically anything can be grounds for a break up if it bothers you enough. Though personally I think it would be better than a tampon or pad since it's not drying in anywhere (shudder) if it really bothers you and she really loves it then go your seperate ways. Though good luck asking about it early in a relationship without looking like a weirdo

How does this have anything to do with PPD? The cup is the most sanitary way to collect the blood, less chances for bleeding through, it is the safest as it poses no threat for toxic shock syndrome and allows women to maintain an active lifestyle because it moves with your body. I don't use one myself, but Ive considered making the switch. How is a cup any less gross than a piece of cotton in your vagina or piece of cotton in your underwear? We have to collect the blood somehow, please grow up.

And the cup is probably most sanitary. You just empty and clean it periodically. The same as you change a tampon periodically.
