A lot of people on here claim they are banging HB8s or HB9s. Anyone saying they have a HB10 just needs to stop it. I swear people don't know how to rate anymore.

HB10 - don't exist. There are no perfect women. You're not dating/plating/LTRing a HB10.

HB9 - These are top tier women. As in the most beautiful women on the planet. There are very few of these girls and most of these girls will be celebs, top tier models (key word TOP), athletes, ect... Not your sorority chick at OSU or Florida University. Again, most guys aren't doing anything with these women. However, this is all subjective, so they may be an HB9 to you, but to someone else, maybe an 8. So we stay away from HB9s as well. Very few women are HB9s to a lot of men.

HB8 - Now we are getting somewhere. These are the top girls you see on a college campus or in your city. Again, most guys aren't banging these women either. But these types are more attainable then the ones listed above.

HB7 - These are most of guys on here who would consider HB9s and HB10s. Very good looking. Above average.

HB6 - These are average/slightly above looking girls. Not drop dead gorgeous, but still good looking enough where you really want them. The HB6s are what you classify as the good looking women on tinder or who you see walking around in your every day life. Or that "hot" receptionist or HR rep. When I hear guys on here saying they smashed a HB8, its most likely an HB6. And by that I mean I'm giving the benefit of the doubt, because I really think they are HB5s, but whatever.

HB5 - These girls are still hitable. This is like boarderline though. Still cute enough to bang, maybe LTR, but don't expect everyone to turn heads as she walks by. Basically if you bang this chick, your friends won't clown you for it.

HB4 - These are the girls that are low as you go. You might be in a dry spell or need some drinks. Your friends will clown you for it, but will probably understand why you did go after this chick.

HB3s and lower- should not even be on your radar.

Most guys on here are full of shit when it comes to their HB ratings. I have had guys on here PM me for personal advice and I always ask them to send me a pic of this so called HB7-9 they have oneitis for and 99% of the time they are inflating her rating by a good 3-4 points. I had one guy call an HB4 on her very best day an HB8.

I always knock off 2-3 points off HB ratings I see on TRP to get a realistic picture of what they are dealing with. It also makes posts that I see all the time make more sense, where someone is saying they easily pull HB8s-10s on Instagram all the time by simply DM'ing them without having ever met them in real life. Yeah, sure.

I would say having a decent face, decent measurements, and no obvious stand out flaws puts a girl in the top 10%.

Roosh had a way of looking at the HB10 scale that I tend to agree with: a 10 is a 9 who possesses some characteristic that for you personally makes her "perfect".

Having said that, there was a post in askTRP about what 5s-8s look like and my response was:

A 5 has a plain but pleasant face and a slightly pudgy body with discernable feminine curves.

A girl with a particularly nice face or good body is upgraded to a 6.

If she has a nice face and a good body then she is a classic girl-next-door 7.

An 8 will have a very pretty face and and exceptional body.

I didn't mention 9s but they have amazing bodies and incredibly pretty faces.

Of course, there are variations and men will disagree on things regarding ethnicity, BF%, musculature, height, hair and eye colour and such. However, if you can stand outside yourself and think about how other guys would rate a girl - whether as a rough consensus, a majority or a plurality - rather than based on your own preferences and biases, the ratings guys give will generally be within one point of each other.

In terms of statistical distributions, it certainly is not on a percentile scale (a 5 is the median, a 9 is 90th percentile) but rather has a left skew that looks similar to a log-normal distribution. This is particularly so in America where so many women are overweight and the "average" (depending on your source and definition) is 5'4" and 160 pounds (BMI 27, which is a bullshit scale to begin with when it comes to women as BMI 25 - or 145 pounds at 5'4" - is considered "within the normal range").

If looks were brains then the 9s/10s of the world would be geniuses, a good 3 standard deviations above the mean.

Female ratings (SMV, not RMV) assess how universally attractive a woman is. Not how subjectively attractive she is to you. Not her PhD, not even her personality. It's her looks, period, with maybe a little influence from her body language / posture / sensuality.

The key that you identified is that legit 9s and up live in an alternate reality. Without make-up, without dressing slutty, they can go out and capture the attention of men 10-80 years old, and other women are innately aware of their presence and react to them.

The key characteristic of an alpha male is that everyone around him is on some level pinging off of him and reacting to him. This is the same for women who are 9+, and it's why a standard college cutie, who by all means is super fuckable and plenty hot, is probably an 8 at best. Because there's an abundance of her.

If she is a 9, she would stand out anywhere - a hot LA club, etc etc. The girls you guys think are 9s would be fucking invisible in venues with abundant high SMV women - because they are 7s and 8s aka standard hot girls. I took a plate to a dolphins game and we were taking photos with miami dolphins cheerleaders who were at the pre game event doing PR shit, and my plate was like "holy shit, they are like a different species" and it fucked with her mentally, because it showed her how imperfect she was. That is the effect 9s have on people, and it's why 9s and up get treated in very strange ways by women. Every bit of extra pudge, facial assymetry, out of shape, pale untanned skin, bigger waist / less curvy hips, etc, it is all made clear.

The problem with male hamstering on TRP is that we all want to think of ourselves as fucking a 9. I thought I was in college when I was banging this smoking hot volleyball girl. In hindsight, she had a butterface, too fucking tall, big nose, smaller tits than optimal for her shape, a nice ass but not quite the optimal heart shape, etc. She was probably a 7.5 or 8 in a major city. (And this is the scale you have to use - the universal scale, not the local college town scale). But I thought of her as a 9 because it made me feel cool.

This is hamstering and it leads to you overvaluing her and acting beta / lower SMV than her, because deep down you know you are not a 9.5, and thus you internalize her as higher value than you. All for the sake of scratching your ego - and now your ego is dependent upon you maintaining this LTR / plateship with this "9". Guess what happens - she internalizes her higher value that you are projecting onto her and she starts to think she can maybe fish up a higher value guy.

So to summarize:

9s are like 3 standard deviations of hotness above the mean - if girls as hot as her are commonplace, she's not a 9.
You have to use a universal objective scale. Beauty, not personality, not RMV.
9s have a different reality / experience than 8s - 9s are rare and are generally treated like an exotic commodity everywhere they go, which leads to them developing personality traits you don't usually find on 8s. This may seem like a semantic difference, but it's not just about the rating, it's about knowing what to do to get a 9 because you know her, you know what she usually experiences, and you know how to differentiate yourself. You know how to get through her bitch shield, how to deal with her super hot girl shit tests (which are very different than average shit tests, etc). Ratings matter because you have to game the woman in front of you, and to do that, you have to be perceptive and understand how to be perceived as higher SMV by her (even if you are not).

Good post, but statistically, a 9 is actually much rarer than you say. If a 9 is hotter than 90% of the female population, that means one out of every ten women is a 9. Now we all know that's not even close to reality--a 9 is actually much rarer.

Why? The answer has to do with statistics.

The distribution of female attractiveness is not linear, it follows a bell curve. By the way, most human traits follow this kind of distribution, whether it's intelligence, height, etc. Most people are around average with respect to any given attribute, and there is a much smaller number of extremely short or extremely tall individuals, for example.

There are far more 4, 5, and 6 women at the center of the bell curve, than 9's out there at the very tail end of the distribution. I would actually estimate that:

A 7 is one standard deviation above normal attractiveness, or hotter than about 84% of females.
An 8 is two standard deviations above average, or hotter than about 97.5% of females.
A 9 is three standard deviations above average, or hotter than about 99.9% of females.

Exactly 10% of females are better than 90% of the female population. Not sure I'd call this "very rare".

More than this.... if you discount under age (one third) and over 40 (another third), that leaves you with 33%. So by this definition nearly 1/3 of women of fuckable age are HB9.

Here's a better definition: top 10% of legal-to-fuck women under 35. While a reasonable definition, I doubt that any group of 100 women of fuckable age contains 10 women we'd think were 9/10.

And the next problem with your definition: if HB9 is better than 90%, that implies our mythical Miss HB10 is better than 100% of the population, a logical fallacy.

I'm not a fan of the HB# rating system, it gets dumb at both ends. HB10 means what exactly? And HotBabe5 is laughable.

So let's try and work out a sensible definition:

Female (not male!) attractiveness is on a fairly symmetric bell curve. If we equally subdivide attractiveness horizontally (this is most people's instinctive understanding of a rating system), we'll find that more women are clustered around the mean (5), with a decreasing number of outliers at the ends. Mercifully few 0's and 1's.

Using this system, you find there are a lot of 6's, about the same number of 7's, 8's are getting rare, 9's very rare and 10's extremely rare.

This reflects our subjective reality much more than the percentile system that OP is talking about.

Well, the problem with the rating is it's very subjective, because everyone finds different things attractive. For example, I absolutely hate girls who had lip injections. They look so fake it turns me off completely. They look like inflatable sex dolls, if anything. Yet I see guys fawning over fake bitches on instagram and calling them 9s and whatnot. They are 4 to me at best, I wouldn't fuck either of them.

Then, for example, I have a fetish for long hair and I once met a girl who had really really long, shiny, slightly curly hair, almost to her knees. I couldn't objectively tell whether she was really beautiful or not (well, other guys were staring at us when we were hanging out and even if she had a bun, so it wasn't just her hair either). She also dressed and acted really classy, you'd think she was raised an upper-class, even though she was not. So, all in all, I wouldn't rate her less than 9. But if you prefer slutty girls with huge fake lips and tons of make-up, she would be a 7 for you, probably.

Occasionally I like to use a decimal ranking system. Sometimes it can be hard to decide between say 6 and 7 so I go for a 6.5.

In my opinion the ranking system is heavily influenced by the person who uses it. An HB7 in my eyes might be an HB5 to someone who has abundance of women. It also depends on what race of women you like. Some my prefer Latinas while other may prefer Filipinos.

The rating also depends on the location, for example a regular Slavic girl may be a 5 in her home country but she would be considered an 8 in foreign nations were blonds are rare.

You are wrong on how ratings work. It's a bell curve, not evenly distributed. A 9 is not hotter than 90% of the population, a true 9 is hotter than 98%+ of the population

I'm probably a 7/10 but am a top 10% guy. Vast majority of people are in the 3 (fatties) to 7 (good looking but not perfect) range. Anything above that is a respective head turner

I use the HB system on a more universal level than basing it on my own personal likings. It's a neat little way to determine what a girl's personality is probably like based on her looks. HB6's to 8's are my sweet spot. They typical cute girl next door. They've got pretty faces and bangable bodies (and typically have big arses, too - a solid plus in my books), but they're usually quite shy and tend to rely on their personalities a little more to please you than someone who's used their looks to coast them through life. I believe I may have come across some false karma by stating in a previous comment that I lost an HB10. My mistake. But I wish to share some recent insights on what conclusions I can draw as a neuroscientist.

TRP is a culmination of directly measurable observations and causal conclusions that pieces together what we love calling a frame. This frame is the dead serious killer in your mind that powers your logical reasoning and then bends the universe to its will. Shit actually happens. Blue pill is the spoonfed shit your mother has fed into you in order to workout that super duper organ called your brain. Because evolution is slow as shit, but our collected minds are starting to experience another fucking universe in some shit we call space and time while our physically manifested auxiliaries are facing a different everyday life than Adam and Eve. Or the in pre-historic times for that matter.

And in truth, so is our animal brain. The neocortex is the singular genetically unique snippet of DNA. And something that looks like a bald monkey has this spectacular code. There are still unexplored manifestations of DNA, and this fucking little blue planet won't stop cranking out new recipes. Just imagine if the neural activity that works for your brain was in ant? Or you were just a used tissue in your dad's trash can. So against this race of time, or "DNA RAT RACE" if you will, the only things that seems to matter is A) Survival B) Reproduction. Somewhere down the line, it got rewritten as A)Work B) Reproduction and I would like to guess it's because of the female's neocortex.

The female brain is unique. But man tries so hard to think like the female. And in turn, the female brain responds to this. This lower being who would probably have written the bible as her being an everlasting goddess if she had just been the first to learn how to spell, and properly too, learns at the initial stages of a child's memories how to experience pleasure from receiving and only receiving because she can do shit like cry, lie, and keep it totally together in the event of extremely traumatic stress thanks to pseudo genetic advantages that I would wager are based on epinephrine and norepinephrine inhibitory responses (adrenaline). Boys go through this too, but are very easily (it's really too easy) shaped into ingots of industry. Because when they go through glucocorticoid stress, it is usually because they are in the process of evaluating their entire existence and purpose in life, as he is testing his value based off the opinions of females. His only response is to be better in the eyes of women or be miserable. And touch himself. That compensatory reward-seeking behavior is really only ended when a boy becomes a man. That is the end-all-truth. Man fabricates. Woman decorates (but even then, they just have to go "you're the best!" and man will keep improving her decorations from within the industry because he wants to believe she can truly appreciate it for what and how it came to be). The only few common things we share is that we both have explosive poops from time to time. This is also something boys have trouble letting go of the fact that "You're the best!" from a girl is something you should completely re-register as a significant item of suspicion, instead of a welcomed reward. Cause then you're a tool. Boys do not wish to believe in a reality where a female (like his mother) is incapable of true reciprocity, unconditional love, and honor (and let's not forget beauty). Let this fantasy go. It makes you touch yourself and try to become a better person, and although you may improve yourself significantly, it is poison to your emotional well-being and you'll never stop dreaming. And touching yourself.

There is a clear difference between a girl and a woman. I myself have trouble being consistent about the difference, but I digress. Girls survive on vanity. Woman survives on servitude. Very rare women are truly independent and wish it for themselves, but even then, they find it rather difficult to secure a permanent mate because their standards are already pretty high. But the girls who have relied on vanity such as spending hours perfecting the stupid smokey eye, will continue fulfilling their reward-seeking behavior with how other girls are doing on their smokey eyes. Cause they're that stupid.

They don't even really think of us as human beings because then that makes it a competition and they would rather say it's not important in the hopes that their dreams come true. They think of us like father but with a bargaining token called vaginal intercourse whenever he tells her something she does not want to hear. And then she just gets away with it. Because the boy caves and says he's sorry. Oh and that he really believes he is at fault because he cannot get over his people-pleasing addiction to "hope-amine" *Gaaaaaaaaaaasp. How did it get this bad?

Well, we all know because we were all once there. And so I'll end it here before I spend another hour on this.

By definition top 10% isn't that rare, it's 1 in 10. My wife is definitely hotter than 9 out of every 10 women, In fact I'd give her like 98/100 of given 30 year olds. It's not so crazy to believe that a guy who improves himself in every way (with a little luck in genetics) is therefore a top 10% man and is able to pull top 10% women...right?

The point I’m trying to make is that girl ratings are not a mere reflection of your personal preferences. You have to look at these things as a percentile rank. An HB9 is a woman that his hotter than 90% of the female population. That is a VERY rare thing; we’re talking Emily Ratajkowski or models like Sierra Skye types of women.

I agree, attraction is relative and I do not believe there really is a scale to it. Most field reports or any woman anybody describes on TRP seems to be "HB6/7/8/9" aka better then 60-90% of women.. on the internet that is highly unlikely, and people say whatever they believe to be, not what is fact.

I just have two classifications, attractive to me or unattractive to me.

To your final point thought, a HB9 to you might happen to be a HB9 to someone else, but not everyone. Everyone fancies something different.
