That's absolutely horrible. Being a male-on-female victim, I can't even imagine having that lack of support. I can't pretend I understand what it would feel like to have put yourself out there like that and then have those kinds of comments staring you in the face. And one thing that I'm sure had to have taken place, this says the woman was pregnant. Society tells you (wrongly) that you should "never raise a hand at a woman", which of course I agree with in social settings, but in an attack situation, you should absolutely be able to defend yourself. But if this young, drunk Marine were to defend himself against a pregnant woman, where do you think this story would have gone? "Marine Beats Pregnant Woman During Sex", that's where. And that's a really disgusting thought, that he was trapped in a situation where he had to choose between being brutalized or being tagged as a brutalizer. For what it's worth, I'd like to extend my condolences to the guy, even if he never sees it I want it to be out there. Rape is really scary, and not having the support you deserve has to be impossibly difficult. Keep your head up, and seek counseling, if you can.

Those responses are horrible, but, it's the internet, responses are always going to be horrible. The fact is that as a society rape is not a well addressed issue. My friend was raped while she was abroad, and I was the first person she talked to that didn't ask her if she was drunk when it happened, even her mother asked her that. I understood, and when she started to explain that "I know I was drunk but I said 'no' so many times" I cut her off and told her that it didn't matter what the conditions were, if she said no it wasn't her fault. She started crying; I was the first one to say that to her. I know that there must be men out there who never get to talk about their problems because of fear about speaking out, men who have it worse, but being angry about the way we are treated differently doesn't change anything. Society doesn't treat rape victims fairly, and that is a fact. Society treats male victims of rape worse, that is also a fact. I don't see why we draw lines in the sand and pick who should get sympathy. We should really be able to come together on this issue, and raise awareness that just because you don't have cuts and bruises doesn't mean you weren't raped.

The bottom segment's comments are downright ignorant. I think that first one on the female-on-male segment is the most ignorant of the bunch. Women can indeed orgasm while raped, and men don't need to be in the mood to have an erection. If he was raped, he sure as hell didn't enjoy it.

When men try to speak on women's issues, we get told to sit down and shut up. After all, we haven't personally experienced women's issues and have nothing valuable to add to the conversation. On the other hand, these women think they are authorities on how a penis works and what can cause an erection. Ask literally any honest man and they can confirm that an erection can be a result of physical stimulation and nothing more. For young men, it may not take any more than the wind blowing the right way. These women have no clue what they're talking about and are showing their privilege of never having to deal with awkward and unintentional boners. The lack of humanity showed by the supposed fairer sex here is sickening.

As a male, I'm stronger than most females. That holds true for most men. As a result, I can't imaging being raped by a female and I don't feel much sympathy for a man raped by a woman.

I think we are fundamentally different than women, and this makes rape fundamentally different. Both can be bad, but we shouldn't ignore biological and cultural reality. They are not equal.
