Earlier today I was talking to a friend of mine who is a devout follower of feminism. He knows I’m an MRA, and surprisingly we are able to have rational discussions about gender politics and theory, despite him buying into all the usual feminism myths (1 in 4 rape, pay gap, DV, etc), mostly because he flat-out refuses to believe these statistics could be false. This time we were triggered by something on the news and started discussing rape, or more specifically, rape culture. My friend insisted that rapists getting off scot-free, victim blaming, and the prevalence of rape jokes constituted a dangerous rape culture that needed immediate rectification. Then I threw this little gem at him:

Me: No, you’re right, I completely agree about rape culture.

Him: (completely surprised) Really?

Me: Yeah. Just look at men’s prisons. Everybody knows about the rape that goes on in there and they accept it. Hell, they even cheer it on. Comedians joke about it nonstop; it’s even supposed to be part of the punishment. How many times have you heard somebody say, “You’re going to get raped in prison, lol!” But it’s ok though, because they totally deserve it, right? That guy who’s doing time for stealing cars totally deserves getting f***** in the ass and having society laugh at him for it.

Given the look on his face, I think he’s finally starting to taste the red pill.
