Does anyone agree with me? I'm the kind of person who, if you give me a "___'s Rights" movement, I'll support any justifiable things it has to say. Of course, as a man, I have vested interest with you guys, but I do legitimately care about women's rights even though I'm male, minorities' rights even though I'm white, etc.

The only way I demographically break from the "most traditionally empowered" is I'm an atheist (and only middle class, but that hardly counts).

So, of course, when I try to posit even calm, rational arguments on sociological topics, I sometimes get a "check your privilege."

Disregarding someone's opinion on these subjects because I haven't had to endure as much of the negatives is ridiculous. Isn't that just as racist and sexist?

Hell, while I don't think my opinion is inherently more important by any means, the fact I've faced less trouble in my life due to my circumstances means I've had the opportunity to become more well-read and well-educated.

Of course I can still be wrong, but there are certainly useful perspectives that people can bring who know how to cite studies and have rational arguments.
