(Q4W) Attractive women do you actually like when a guy who isn't as attractive as you puts you on a pedestal especially if you are dating each other or do you hate it?

Men who put women on a pedestal are the least likely to tolerate a woman's flaws once they realize she's not the ethereal being they worshipped so badly. The pedestal has very little to do with the woman's character. The pedestal is just the idealized image men want desperately believe their woman is. I've had men going out of their way after a very short conversation in an attempt to 'help' me simply because they believed I was so smart, good and perfect. It was a massive turn off and their physical attractiveness became absolutely irrelevant.

No, I'm human. The higher you put someone above you the further they have to fall, and they will. I appreciate my partner loving me and wanting to see me more than others but when they talk about me like im perfect or above them it feels like a lie that will eventually be exposed. It has to be pretty extreme to be break up worthy but i definitely dont appreciate it.

You can get knocked off that pedestal pretty easily and the worship turns to contempt or resentment. I think it can be pleasant for a short time but not a way to maintain a an LTR.

Here is my issue with this question: I think enough men in this sub equate "puts on a pedestal" with showing the respect and consideration due anyone's equal. They see women as inferior, and will treat them as such if instructed to not idolize them.

I put myself up on a little pedestal, and most people out in the world take notice. Especially men.

It’s a vibe. I walk with my head held high, I take excellent care of myself, and I don’t do things that I don’t want to do. Only the best for me, thank you very much.

The men in the world have no choice but to worship me, and honestly, it makes it so incredibly easy for both of us. I’m blunt and honest about what I want and what I expect and what I will and won’t tolerate.

I’m not up in my guy’s business all the time. I’m busy. When I need you, I need you, and I need you to come running and sprinting and helicoptering in to come help me. It’s so simple!

I was in this situation once. I thought I was flattered, but then I realized I just really appreciated his loyalty. He was a very loyal bf and person in general. Then after I realized I wasn’t attracted to him (it was a personality and emotional connection over looks thing), I got really turned off by how much he put me on a pedestal. I think people appreciate being appreciated by ppl the same attractiveness or higher.

No. It’s annoying and almost insulting because I’m not being seen as a person. When someone puts you on a pedestal, they are using you as a vessel to project all their desires onto you. They don’t care about your thoughts or desires or feelings. Watch 500 days of summer to see how this backfires.

It sounds cliche but you know how they say people don’t want to be love so much as understood? Idk love me for who I am and all that comes with it, not just for my looks.

But like on a surface level it’s a little bit confusing cause of course I want my man to treat me well and wanna show me off and stuff so idk lol

This was the dynamic with me and my ex and I hated it. Like it got to the point where after a year of dating he was still nervous to talk to me and would get angry and jealous whenever I hung out with my friends (yet he forgot my birthday lol so I guess not too much of a pedestal)

I hate being pedestalised because it gives me performance anxiety - like I won’t be able to live upto somebody’s idea of me in their heads and fuck up eventually.

But I’m not gonna lie, I’ve always enjoyed being the more attractive person in the relationship.

Maybe when I was like 19 I liked that attention, but now that I’m grown I have grown woman concerns. I have an adult marriage where we stand on the same level. Young women often enjoy this attention to a degree but it wears off quick. Then we grow up and get powerful.
