He wanted to destroy her for whatever petty reason and was expecting to have his ego nourished by watching her grovel, suffer and wither away and ultimately beg for him to take her back because she couldn’t cope without him.

His mindset is so bizarre, you acted like you hated her, blew up her life and when she comes back better than before, he’s mad. Why do they do this?

I know we spend a lot of time analyzing things here, which we all need and appreciate.

But, can we just take a moment to CELEBRATE THIS BAD MAMMAJAMMA WHO LET GO AND MOVED ON. This is a success story. This is a woman who refused to take shyt and even now is seeking the insight of others when out of her depth. She is exactly the mom America needs more of. Love this story where a woman doesn't stay and put up with garbage. According to her history, she is likely to take the suggestions and further improve her and her daughter's life and safety. Also, fck him. Lol

Men like this are extremely dangerous. If he doesn't outright take his bitterness and fury out on their child, he'll do everything in his power to poison her against the mother. Imagine trying to co-parent with someone like this. Nightmare fuel.

This is why it's so, so imperative for women to not reproduce with LVM. They'll not only make your life hell, they'll scar your baby. If you decide to keep a pregnancy in a situation like this you might as well start preemptively saving up for the therapy bills. It'd be one thing if you were reasonably sure your ex would be a hands-off deadbeat, but if you know he's the controlling, manipulative, vindictive type who'll insist on shared custody, you are doing your child a massive disservice bringing them into that. You have a duty to your child to provide them the best life possible, to protect them from mistreatment and abuse. With a father like this, you've already failed.

The reason I thought to share this is to point out a couple of things.

First of all, how he is responded to having "fucked around and found out". Even though he blew up his own marriage, he sees OP thriving without him and he can't stand it. He is escalating his aggression which will develop into violence.

Secondly, how OP is being too accommodating to him. She's setting herself on fire for the sake of her daughter, thinking that her suffering is worth it for the sake of her daughter having a father. He's using his "in" to destroy what she's built for herself. She even admits in comments she's afraid to start dating again because she knows he'll freak out.

Most of the screenshots were witty remarks and affirming she wasn't doing anything wrong but I've included some with good advice and insight.

I couldn’t get past the third image. The absolute audacity of a cheater complaining that his ex-wife has moved on! Is she getting child support? If not, then she should have listed “father unknown” on the birth certificate just to completely sever ties with the sociopath.

Something I’ve noticed about (LV) men, but when a man wants to break up, he never leaves it at that. He has to make sure he also:

Destroys her finances
Ruin her mental health until she becomes hospitalized
Abolish her career and/or social reputation so she ends up lonely long after the dust settles, forcing her to leave the area and start over (or never having social media again if he was abusive and violent)

It wasn’t enough that he cheated on her, left her while pregnant, and then made the affair partner into a brand new fiancé worthy of respect. It wasn’t enough that he could still have custody of the child that he can see, several times a week, and doesn’t have to deal with the hard parts like house chores and doing feedings at 3 AM.

It wasn’t enough.

Seeing her happy and moved on enrages him because he thought everything he did would have made her drop to the bottom or taken to a psychiatric hospital. I have to wonder what else is going on that the OP have not mentioned; is she better looking than him? Younger? Have more job prospects, education, money, etc?

Him leaving her for a “better model” felt very calculating, because if it really all because he fell in love with the affair partner, he would have happily signed away his parental rights and never speak with the mother again . But that’s not what’s happening, isn’t it? 🤔

I won't ever make the mistake of giving birth to a baby while some pos ex knows full well he's the father and has the freedom to invade my life. No way.

Babies should only be had by single mothers by choice or women who have loving husbands they trust. Not in these weird complicated situations. It's one thing if things eventually go wrong years into a marriage, but she knew what she was walking into and could have easily prevented this situation.

This male is kind of crazy and vindictive in general, I wouldn't be comfortable at all with his mother just taking my child to him after the behaviour he's displayed. Hell to the no.

I don't understand this interest in "glowing up" where your ex can see you. It's similar to "winning" a divorce.

This stuff hurts/enrages your ex and you are going to end up paying for it ... maybe not right away, but in peace of mind and freedom long-term.

If you're leaving anyone, but especially a cluster B, OMG for all that is holy, be as boring as humanly possible. The oversized, wrong-color, out of style clothes that make you look exhausted and heavy? Set an outfit or two of those aside and *wear them* when you see your nutty ex for the next year or so. Desperately need to post your new partner / new family all over social media? Create a new account or block your ex and ALL of their flying monkeys first (and your new partner's ex too, if they're in a coparenting situation with your new luv).

Avoiding the evil eye has a lot of merit. I don't get why that wisdom seems to fly out the window the second someone has a breakup. Grey or yellow rock things and then vanish entirely. Making them jealous endangers your new life and literally has zero upside beyond a brief, expensive sense of satisfaction.
