I've read here that the dynamic of relationships is now in the power of women. It is true women are the pickers, and they will pick the best, but there is more to this dynamic.

For example, Did you know single men are banned for most swinger parties while single women are welcome and called "unicorns"? It is clear that on that sexual dynamic men have power and do not want to change it, even being supposedly "progressive" on the context of relationships. Men, specially single men, are seen as dangerous or untrustworthy even by so "tolerant" people, and the same society indeed guarantees them to stay that way.

This is closer to how many animals behave... groups of single males go together, excluded from the main groups and waiting to eventually challenge top males there. Humans arguably tried to oppose that nature in the last 10.000 years, and that helped civilization grow as men had a purpose and almost a guarantee to get laid, but that is reverting back to how it is in most of nature. Maybe this will not cause civilization collapse thanks to technology, but the change itself will probably stay painful for a while.

But there is more:

  • Women can be socially inept and get sex, relationships, etc. by just being a little more available or using an app.
  • Attractive top men can pick girls as they want but they still need to be socially mature.
  • Women who are socially adept arguably have more options, but most of them still expect the man to take the initiative on the dynamic.
  • Autistic or not socially adept men, even if they are able to interact with women, are doomed.
  • Women can be happy alone or even sharing a man in a FWB context.
  • So only top men who are socially adept are controlling all relationships at this point.

This explains the collapse in marriage rates, birth rates and the drop in happiness in most relationships, and probably life satisfaction too, even when paradoxically we are healthier and last longer than ever.

Women are also shapeshifting to what top men want or look for... big boog, add, younger, etc. and they are spending a lot on keeping or getting that. Older women are more depressed than ever probably for this reason.

Women indeed got more power to choose and stay single and so on, which is individualistic power and self-determination, but only top men got significant power on virtually all social life of the species.

So I would say our time is a time of abundance and wealth on everything but relationships and social interactions. They are increasingly becoming the most valuable thing people want to get and fewer people are getting it by the years.
