It would certainly give less sexual power to the average woman, because men wouldn't have to put as much effort into getting laid, but an escort/prostitute can't offer you the things that a great woman worth actually sharing a life with can. Beyond that...having sex with someone you don't have an emotional connection with isn't all that great. So having sex with someone who doesn't even desire you is just sounds....very unfulfilling. In my personal opinion at least.

I think a large motivation behind men pursuing sex is the gratification of have sex with women who actually want to have sex with them. Even if prostitution is legalized, men would still be shamed for using it especially if it’s their only way of getting sex. And there isn’t that gratification aspect of it because prostitutes don’t actually desire sex with you. They’re just providing a service. If it was just about the sex itself, I doubt there would be as many virgin men regardless of whether prostitution is legal or not. So I don’t think much would change if prostitution were legalized. There’s legal brothels in Nevada. Or at least last I knew there was. But I’ve never heard anyone advise moving to Nevada if they want to get quality women because women can’t leverage sex there or something.

A lot of men also want families. And I don’t think they’ll be wanting to get that through prostitutes even if prostitutes weren’t taking major precautions to make sure they don’t get pregnant.

There are regions where prostitution is either legal or decriminalized. As far as I’m aware, relationship dynamics continue more or less the same in those regions as it did before.

I think you oversimplify what men are seeking when they look to date women, and also poorly understand what women are thinking when they look to date men. As a result, you overestimate the impact legalization has or would have.

To be blunt: women who don’t want to sleep with you in the first place aren’t going to be even a little bit threatened by you going “ok well I’ll just go to a prostitute.” Cool, have at it then. If they rejected you before, they will continue to do so after.

P.S. I also wouldn’t assume that legalization and regulation would make sex work cheaper. A quick scan of some hourly rates in legal areas shows them to be the roughly same or more expensive than in my area, where there is prohibition.

I'll be upfront and say I'm in favor of legalizing prostitution and making sure the rights of sex workers are protected. This goes for male and female, gay and straight.

As for changing your mind, consider the fact that there are incels who admit they have fairly easy access to brothels (even in the US we have legal sex work in parts of Nevada). They either live close enough and make enough money to go whenever they'd want, or are capable of saving up to go have a weekend experience. But...they choose to remain virgins and/or sexless. Why? Because many men see sex they paid for as cheating the system. It's "not real", it's lesser, it's worthless in a way. They only want to have mutually desired sex with a woman who at least wants part of him, whether it's his body or mind.

Are there men who are in broken relationships that just need a sexual outlet? Absolutely. But most men aren't going to pay for sex because they know it's fake.

Lol. Here in Germany prostitution is legal. You have to pay taxes and are mostly self employed. Lots of prostiutes rent places together and have a website advertising themselves. The general price for an hour is around 50€ here.

Does that stop men from being desperate for a relationship? No. A lot of older men I know visited a prostiute before. It's not the same as having a gf or wife. The craving for a intimate relationship is still strong in men. Sure the guys that have 0 chance at getting a partner have an outlet but they aren't really part of the dating scene anyway. Especially young men still go to clubs, bars and other events to find love. They use online dating and friends to find a partner. Surprisingly most people want to find love. Not just sex.

You can just come to one of the places where prostitution is legal. It doesn't change anything. The guys that mostly use a prostiute are old married men.

Outside of the casual arena most men don't date for something strictly physical.

Hunting is a lot of fun, but most men would eat a lot less protein if grocery stores didn't exist. That doesn't make venison any less delicious.

Also if you talk with any actual swer talking and emotional support is a huge portion of what they do. Thats why the girlfriend experience is so popular and well known.
