The women who endured that era were the same women advocating for feminism because they literally experienced how much at a disadvantage they were. And yes, I don’t believe that the current divorce rates are bad. The domestic abuse rates from back then were terrifying.

I don’t believe that 18-20 year old guys should marry 30 year old women either. There’s usually a lot of grooming going on that tends to start when they’re teenagers …

It’s not hard to imagine your life path when no one will hire you, educate you, train you, sell to you, let you make medical decisions on your own, rent to you, open a bank account, or give you your own line of credit.

To be entirely fair to the men of this community; I don't think they target anyone. I think they're a bunch of bitter and lonely fantasists writing out their complicated revenge dramas like they're science hoping to burn the women they perceive as their enemies. I doubt most of them are getting any women or women much younger than them. And the ones that are, we know statistically will lose them before anything gets too serious. The few that get serious tend to end before too much damage is done.

Do I think we should discourage and shame this behaviour? Absolutely. But I think the term target is giving them a little too much credit. They aren't effective enough to be monsters. They aren't going to take any of us back to the 1950s.

Yet the vast majority of those men in the 1950s would give everything to their wives. They worked hard to provide for her and to make her happy. If his wife cried, he felt pain, because he wanted to be a good husband. The wife was expected to invest in her husband's happiness so she found value in the relationship.

Both people invested and both people could feel fulfilled. It wasn't perfect, but way better than the narcissistic feminist standard of giving a woman everything and expecting nothing in return.

All humans suck. But when a human invests in another it allows them to bond. If you take away the expectation of mutual investment you destroy the possibility of healthy relationships.

I Don’t think shaming is nice, But I do agree that the current paradigm does increase divorce. I’m for the traditional family unit, and I still think women should be paid for house work.

That's true that Silent Generation women born almost 100 yrs ago had it rough. Majority of us don't disagree, but in the current yr. the vast majority of women here are Millennials, Zoomers, and a couple Gen X women, they have ample access to education, transportation, finances, universities, careers, housing, organizations, and communities.

And to the fact that institutions, corporations, and global entitles are demanding that women are 50% in all major Fortune 500 companies, STEM classes, and leadership positions by at least 2030.

The only oppression modern women go through is waiting at the line at Starbucks, and also I forgot we're on Reddit where it's diverse and inclusive, we also have women who unfortunately have to wait in queue to get there hairs and nails did.

Western countries are largely liberal so like in the U.S., 50% of all marriages fail and 80% of all marriages especially the ones in the U.S. and it's 90% when you include college educated.

One of the biggest causes for divorce is the wife started making more than her husband and while she wants to make as much of her own money as possible, still wants him to make more than her.

While I agree 18 or 20 is too young for a girl to get married, you're dead wrong about manipulation and very young girls being targeted for manipulation. That couldn't be farther from the truth. Younger women are just far better for a LTR. They're far less likely to be problematic and ran through than older women. They don't have any ways to be set in and are far less likely to be heartbroken.

So the whole targeting and manipulation is mostly bullshit.

Post feminism fertility rate = humans going extinct. It’s under 2.1. At first this causes the average age of the population to be older.

The world is being populated by countries where feminism hasn’t taken root.

Correlation doesn’t always equal causation. So we can’t say for sure feminism = low birth rates. But most future humans seem to be coming from countries without feminism

You have an oversimplified view of the past. Not only women were dependent on men, men also were (and still are, if they want to have children) dependent on women, just in other ways. I would advice you to watch the movie After the promise (1987) which is about a husband in the 1930s who loses his wife and has 4 little children. The movie is based on a true story.

Also, in the past (and even nowadays in some areas) a lot of men were forced to fight in wars, and died or became disabled or very traumatized because of it. A lot of people suffered in history, not only women, also a lot of men.

And just like a lot of women in the past could not choose for a career, most men also could not choose for a nice career. A lot of men had no choice than to do the same work what their fathers did. Think for example of all those miners. Do you think it is nice to spend a large part of your life underground doing monotonous work in hazardous conditions?

By the way, when only the husband provides the money, it does not necessarily mean that he controls or oppresses his wife. And if both the wife and the husband earn money, it doesn't mean domestic abuse is impossible.
