Of course they are, they are talking from their own experience. That's why women often advice others to stay single for a while and work on yourself.

The stats pretty much show that married men live longer and single women live longer which just means that married women give a few years of their lives to their husband. That should be your litmus test for marriage: does this human deserve a few years of your life?

And a portion of their happiness, so they will live shorter less happy lives in exchange for their partner to live longer happier ones. This is why being picky matters.

feel like that’s a bad test because i don’t believe any man alive is worth a few years of your lifespan lolol

This is exactly it lmao 💀they also can’t stand when they see a single or child free woman that’s older being happy. They insist she must be “faking it” and “crying on the inside” because they’re so narcissistic they can’t cope with the fact that some women don’t need them and are better off without them.

divorce-rape him and deprive him of his hard earned resources
Don't forget defraud her of her portion of the marital estate and shove the kids on her while avoiding child support. Men are 100% the ones who commit divorce rape.
I'm in a single moms fb group and all of the posts rn are about how to get the stimulus payment for their kids from the ex when she has near 100% custody becuase IT WAS WRITTEN INTO THEIR DIVORCE AGREEMENT THAT HE GETS TO CLAIM THE KIDS ON HIS TAXES. Or it's them wondering if they should give the payments for their kids to the non-custodial ex becuase he won't stop harassing her for it.
Men will do anything to fuck a woman out of what's legally hers in a divorce. After going through it myself and reading others' experiences am legit angry on behalf of all women about what men get away with in divorces.
[–][deleted] 103 points104 points105 points 5 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
This one is so infuriating to me. I don't have children but I have a single mom friend and her narc of a baby daddy constantly claimed the child on his taxes even though it wasn't his turn and she is the custodial parent. AND he was defaulting by thousands of dollars on his child support! He STILL had the audacity to claim the kid, while doing NOTHING to support him. It's sickening how self centered and sociopathic theses dudes are.
[–][deleted] 75 points76 points77 points 5 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
I want to do something but I don't know. Like women need to start learning their rights.
I don't even know how men can claim a kid on their taxes that they barely see or why mom's don't file their kids as dependents. You have to answer questions on your tax return about how often you have the kid. If both claim the IRS comes back around and looks for the parent with proof of custody.
And that business literally screws single mom's out of more than just the child tax credit, they also get screwed out of their larger deduction as head of household. It's not legit at all.

I feel so validated reading this. I got massivley fucked over in the divorce and people BLAME ME for it "you should have done this/that etc" they don't fucking understand how difficult the situation was. It infuriates me that he fucked me over and I get the blame!!
[–][deleted] 18 points19 points20 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I'm sorry that you had to go through that. The only real answer to the issue is for women to hire really good representation, because the family courts are already stacked against us. I know a lot of women don't have that option or somehow they trust their ex's to do the right thing. Most women will have to fight to have their basic rights defended against a system that is engineered to strip them away.
It's definitely not your fault.
[–]whitefox00FDS Newbie 19 points20 points21 points 5 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Oh man, I’m going through that right now! Both my exes agreed to let me claim the kids on my taxes because it massively lowered their monthly child support AND I got it written into the custody agreement. Now that the stimulus checks have come out they are BIG MAD and keep telling me they should get half. One is thousands behind on child support, the other stays part time employed under the table in order to pay the bare minimum. Forgive me if I don’t feel sorry for them.
[–][deleted] 11 points12 points13 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Let's put this into perspective. If you are the parent with primary custody they agreed to not force you into letting them commit tax fraud.
[–]womandatory 51 points52 points53 points 5 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link
I totally agree with your comment, but I’m really opposed to the use of the word ‘rape’ when referring to divorce. ‘Divorce rape’ is a misogynist term coined by angry, hateful men who think their ex getting a fair financial divorce settlement is somehow akin to having your bodily autonomy taken away. It’s not. Please think of a different term to use, because throwing ‘rape’ around when you’re just salty things didn’t turn out your way both delegitimizes actual rape and it’s really disrespectful to victims to have their loss be compared with monetary loss.
[–]buzzkillyallFDS Newbie 26 points27 points28 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Thank you for saying that, and for explaining so well. The XY human I formerly allowed in my life used that word, for any and all financial transactions which did not go his way. It made me ill.

Well yes, exactly. They would have to manipulate people into believing this to get what they want. If it spread fast to the general population that finding a partner is a plus not a necessity, a lot more people would realise there’s nothing wrong with being single

https://www.psychologytoday.com/us/blog/living-single/201701/is-it-true-single-women-and-married-men-do-best This is an interesting article about those stats.
"Some important studies and reviews of studies find no reliable sex differences, and when there are, it is women who seem most disillusioned by marriage.
An example of research that found no sex differences is the longest-running study of longevity, which has been going on since 1912 (discussed here). Results show that the people who lived the longest were those who stayed single and those who stayed married. Those who divorced, including those who divorced and remarried, had shorter lives. What mattered was consistency, not marital status, and there were no sex differences.
Another kind of research in which men and women fare about the same are studies that follow the same people over time as they go from being single to getting married. A review of 18 such studies found that people generally become no happier after they get married. At best, they become a bit more satisfied with their lives around the time of the wedding; then they go back to feeling about as satisfied (or dissatisfied) as they were when they were single. That pattern is also the same for men and women.
That review of 18 studies also found that both married men and married women become more and more dissatisfied with their relationship over time. A study of covenant marriages found that women become dissatisfied with their marriages sooner than men do.
One of the most reliable sex differences in reactions to marriage is in who files for divorce. This difference has been documented at least as far back as 1867, and it is still true now, in Europe, Australia, and the U.S. Who is more likely to walk away from a marriage? Women. They initiated about 62 percent of divorces in the U.S. in 1867, and that number is now closer to 70 percent."

This is at the root of horrible patriarchal depravity like marrying off girl children at 9 years old to old fart males. Steal their youth and vitality, and break their spirits young, so that it extends the old fart’s life and guarantees that she will stay through all the abuse. Sick, twisted, but the REAL purpose of that behavior.

[–][deleted] 44 points45 points46 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Girl what?! Being divorced just means you happened to be married before, noting more nothing less!
One of my friends married an NVM in her mid 20s, got divorced, stayed depressed, continued to gain weight etc... idk exactly what happened but she flipped that switch in her early 30s, not only just lost the weight but stayed consistently athletic and kicking literal ass, moved to a city across the country and now she spends her time doing hot girl shit with her friends and loving herself. She just calls herself single as her marriage was just simply a mistake. I’d do the same! He didn’t get her best years, so why act like it you know? 🙂

That was probably the main reason I got married in the first place. Just curiosity and a need to disambiguate the reality from the extreme cultural weight we place on it.

Why? You are single, with a heck of an experience. Screw what society says, they all want us to pretty much die a miserable death anyway. You now got alll the time to focus solely on yourself and level the heck up.
