I've remembered a funny thing that I forgot to mention in my thread about Ukraine from the perspective of a local:

A few months before the war our authorities tried to push a law about military record of women. They planned to give them priority in mobilisation by professional skills (physician first etc), but it didn't happen because of the massive reaction in society.

Females made a bunch of petitions on governmental websites and Zelenskyy even responds to them. In one of those petitions he claimed that "there can be no privileges or restrictions based on gender". But guess what happened thereafter.

The only thing i disagree with is the idea that "feminism has become evil". It always was evil. Do your research. The C.I.A. was involved in women's lib and it was for the benefit of the U.S. government. Follow the money. When it took root, one of the intended consequences was effectively doubling the pool of taxpayers. Women were tricked. In essence, what im saying is feminism is to modern women as the apple was to Eve. With consequences nearly as dire.

I am a woman and i agree with this post and all these comments, being a uni student i am literally sick of everyday debates our so called 'feminist ' professors want us to engage in. The same old 'why should women cook' to 'women can wear whatever they want'.

Something that's gets me is when we ask why men should be forced to fight in Ukraine, one rebuttal is "well MEN started the war, so MEN can fight it".

Which makes no sense, even from a female survival perspective, because the Russian men aren't only coming to kill Ukrainian men you dumb fucks. You think those missiles blowing up schools, and hospitals, are only aiming for men?

Russian men are coming to kill Ukraine WOMEN, as well as Ukraine men, and women's response is "men are coming to kill us women, so of course men should defend us".

Now flip the genders to see if their reasoning makes ANY sense "Russian women are coming to kill Ukrainian women, so of course Ukrainian women should fight and protect Ukrainian men..."

Sounds insane right ?

Until we realise that the women get to flee the warzone, then it all makes sense.

How much do you want to bet if the genders were reversed, women would STILL claim that men should protect them from the attacking FEMALE enemy, while the Ukrainian women flee ?

So the argument "the gender that started the war, should also be the gender defending against it", makes no sense because the women on the victim side of the war would always expect the men to fight for them.

You see this is other areas too, when it comes to men's issues, women saying "men should sort out their own issues, because women didn't cause them", which is fine, as long as men are not expected to "save women" from women's issues that men didn't cause either.

What feminism doesn't understand is nothing is free. They don't weigh the consequences and cost of everything they want too well. They think they can force a perfect world and ignore anyone and anything that doesn't agree with them.

If ur angry about mobilizing assets and protecting children u should be angry at the ppl starting war. I've fought along side many capable women, but if my country is invaded I would also recognize the wisdom of sending my wife and kids away because they're a liability. While I don’t agree with it, I kind of get it. Some adults need to leave to take children, elderly and disabled people with them. Men are physically stronger and therefore typically better at fighting. Plus, women are more likely to be raped (by the other side and theirs) and they probably wouldn’t be comfortable sleeping with a bunch of male fighters. There’s a food shortage and a finite amount of other resources too. Everyone staying behind isn’t the answer. Saying that men should stay is a simple and fast ruling which is important in war. The only other realistic alternative is not enforcing anyone to stay behind - if this was the case, Ukraine would probably already be Russia.

Yeah the majority of people fighting are men but if your husband is fighting (because he legally has no other choice) then guess what, you're not gonna send your young children to be refugees in a foreign country alone so women are leaving to look after kids.

I also think its super funny how often this sub points to conscription as like a key argument. "Oh see women aren't forced to fight in the army! Sexism! Men's right!" Like look who writes the fucking laws! It's mostly men. Women are not making these choices men are.

Feminist are quite ok with the idea that cis men should fight and that women and trans folk should be evacuate (like children). Your probably some egalitarian or MRA who thinks thats unfair.

Do you:

Make women fight, (what if there with child)
Let male citizens flee the fight causing your nation to lose and for the territory to get a Russian standard of rights.
Make the men but not the women stay.
Take the US up on the person evacuation offer.

Ok there are some thrid options but the turth is when shit hits the fan real men have to step up women and apparently trans folk won't and lifes not fair.

All that said rich peaseful countries maybe should use that welth to afford freedom to there citizens.

It's a complicated situation with some nuance. You're right to a degree, but we also disagree on a lot.

If your goal is to run a well oiled and efficient war machine of a society, the way to do that is to have strict gender roles that send men off to die in battle and resign women to popping out and raising as many babies as possible. This is how most societies for most of history ran. But as society improved, their goals shifted from stone cold efficient survival to improving human wellbeing. If improving human wellbeing is your goal gender equality is a necessary part of that. In a sense, society as a whole has a hierarchy of needs and its priorities shift as it goes up and down that. If we have security we can start focusing on other important things, but if we don't have security that becomes top priority above everything else. But just because something exists higher up doesn't mean it's frivolous or not worthwhile.

In Ukraine they have been knocked down a few notches on that hierarchy of needs because they actually do have people busting down the door to steal shit as we speak. In times like these, human rights take second priority to living.

You are wrong to blame feminism for this though. True men's liberation will happen in cooperation with feminism, not in conflict with it.

Even in countries that are at peace, feminism seems to think the only careers are high end, high salary, high social status (which they still haven’t figured out is counterproductive to them on dating scene) in air conditioned offices which they are being deprived of.

They completely miss that the low social status, back breaking and dangerous jobs are all done by men and resemble a gender at war.
