In the West we were living in a traditional culture, and in this specific culture there is a particular dynamic between men and women where both of them have specific roles that they play to ensure the progress and well being of their family and subsequently their country. Many people argue that women had the shortest end of the stick in this deal and I agree with it as well but maybe just not the exact narrative left leaning people like to push, but that's another topic.

Anyways, as society was moving more and more towards modernity we've had more time and leisure to contemplate things beyond mere survival among many other factors which resulted in our society prioritizing activism, social morality, enforced set of ideals, and so on... One of these movements and probably the one with the most influence and power is feminism.

Feminism operates under a lot of principles and premises but the one we're concerned with here is the fact that men are a privileged group in society and have absolutely no deep rooted issue that relates to their gender compared to women. In other words men are in a good spot and so they're fine as they are and we should help women also get to that exact position.

However, this idea of they have it good is from the perspective of the traditional woman of that time which would be correct but the rights, power, privileges, and whatever else that they were attempting to give women was based on a flawed concept, and that is of how a human being should live freely and unburdened by society as if the role of the traditional man is just that. So this presents us with a rather fundamental question, does the traditional role of a man in society one that is absolutely free and has no burdens to shoulder?

If the Answer is No, then a movement that would study the ways men as a group are disadvantaged and look out for their interests is a necessity. And if that rightful need for equality is rejected then those of that group will surely express their frustration and injustice in other ways.

Do you see the point I am trying to make? We removed the traditional shackles that held women but not the ones that held men and any attempt to correct women's behavior as they contribute to that and trying to give men more leverage in some situations to make it more equal is seen as oppressive whereas it isn't as the role men always played was never one that was absolutely free albeit better than that of the woman.
