Let me tell you a story. Years ago, i met a girl, let's call her 'jane' and we hit it off, We ended up hooking up and i was smitten. I ended up telling the whole affair to a friend of mine at work. Let's call him 'joe'. A few days later I invited her to hang out with a few friends of mine, She ended up declining and also got a wall of text saying that she doesn't want to see me anymore. I was shocked because we were chatting on the phone 12 hours ago, i spent the next 48 hours trying to rack through my brain as to what happened. How did i mess this up so quickly.

A few days later I'm with another group of friends that also knew Jane. As I'm telling them my story over the last week I'm also retelling exactly what went down with Jane and why I was so confused. The second i get to the point of the story where I talk to Joe, they stop me, "wait, you told Joe? Omg, Joe has liked Jane for years. Not only that, Joe has a tendency to use information to try to get girls to hang out with him"

I was floored and the pieces started coming together. I hangout with Jane, then i go to work and see Joe, tell Joe about my encounter with Jane, probably using locker room banter and being immature. Joe then calls up Jane and says that I am going and telling everyone that we slept together as if she was a conquest and not how I actually felt.

Moral of the story: don't kiss and tell. It's fun to get a high five from your bros but it's not fun when a potential relationship gets ripped away from you when you tell the wrong person. You don't know how these people can fuck you over. Furthermore be courteous to everyone in your social life because you don't know how they connect behind the scenes.
