Female here. If you're skeptical about someone's appearance, you could always ask for their snapchat or text each other pictures. I do that with people I'm trying to get to know off of dating apps and send them a pic of what I'm up to (e.g going to a museum or chilling with some doggos) Usually then they play along and send a pic as well. If they're not wiling to share a pic I think that's where you start to question if they're catfishing or really insecure about their appearance or hiding something.

I have experienced this a handful of times but have gotten much stricter in how I evaluate photos to the point that it's really not a problem anymore.

If there's any doubt at all due to use of filters, weird angles etc then I just don't bother. Hasn't been a problem since I started screening for obvious signs of photo fuckery.

I guess I just subconsciously learn which profiles not to take serious or not. You're not exactly wrong, but the profiles that are all professional taken or heavily filtered are usually just attention seekers, scammers or trying to drive traffic towards their instagrams. The rest usually have a couple "real" pictures sprinkled in that are fairly accurate.

I will say, once you get into 30+ year old women, you do tend to meet a woman who looks much older than her out of date photos.

But I’ve even gathered intel that some men on here may be doing it as well with their profiles, grooming themselves with razors and hair gel, using beards to have stronger jaw lines, and wearing cologne.

Always use pictures in your profile that are “good” but not “great”. This way, if someone swipes you and you meet up they invariably say “wow! You are much more attractive in person than in your pix”.

Why make pix better for ultimate disappointment. Scale them down a little and start a date with a pleasant surprise.

Dude, I don't even understand why people use altered pics in dating apps, when the whole point is supposed to be meeting in person?... fuck the points, I just don't want to be lied to, in the hopes that their personality will win me over... if I feel lied to, I'll fucking hate you, and that will ruin any chance your personality might have had, which sucks ass for you, because I like a good personality as much as, if not more than, the body style I prefer.

And that's nothing new, men do it to, most people try to create their best foot forward when searching for a date or partner. The real question is why do you feel this way? Why are you so personally offended that women might adjust their look? Go meet them. If they don't look the way you hoped, don't meet up again. No one said you have to date anyone.

You can usually tell, but that happens by getting used to showing up and fiscovering exactly what you're pointing out.
