The main thing is to take risks which might get you rejected. Nice guys orbit girls because they've been taught to give them space etc etc. That means that the girl doesn't ever have anything to accept or reject, just weak signals of interest and the guy just orbits getting frustrated, waiting for an invitation to land that will probably never arrive.
