No hymen no diamond was a meme, but isn’t completely unreasonable if the woman expects her husband to be traditional

For starters, I don’t particularly care if a woman is a virgin or not, I’ve been with people who are (when I was younger) and aren’t.

But what annoys me, is that women expect a man to accept his role as a traditional husband by doing things like:

• being a protector

• being a provider

• spending thousands on an engagement ring Etc.

How is it that a man is expected to be all of these things, to put so much effort into all of this, but if he expects her to be obey one of the most basic rules of being a traditional woman, that was so important for hundreds if not thousands of years, that it’s unacceptable?

Either both people should he traditional, or the woman should let the man also be modern, but expecting only one side to be traditional either way is unfair.
