This hasn’t happened to me since I’ve been with my boyfriend, but it happened today at my work. A man came into the office and I helped him, and right before he left he handed me a slip of paper with his number on it asking me out. I have a boyfriend so I am very much not even remotely interested or available. I don’t really want him to have my number because while my boyfriend and I are free to talk to and be friends with whomever we want to talk to and be friends with, I still don’t really want some guy who I don’t even know who asked me out to have my number.

That said, should I text him and tell him thank you but I have a boyfriend? Is it better to just ignore it? I hate being rude to people so it’s bugging me- and I would love outside perspectives.
