It didn’t bother me. I had my fun with that feeling and I’m paying for it dearly.

I’m glad not to be on the market anymore to look. Much more peaceful and more fun! Unfortunately, some people mistake my playfulness as “flirting” and then get really upset at rejection.

Long story short: I got through it remembering the hell I went through and still going through. Once I did, I slept so good.

I picked up my kids (teens) last night as it's my week to have them.

We ordered pizza, watched TV, played music and played some card games. Just enjoying each other's company, and we had fun doing basically nothing.

No pressure, no expectations. No cards, flowers, chocolates, gifts, dinner reservations, etc. Or, like the last few V-Days of the marriage, just ignoring it and each other.

It was the best Valentines Day I can remember in a long time.

It may take some time but you'll get there.

I actually enjoyed it. I didn’t have to force myself to go get pointless flowers, chocolates and balloons. I wasn’t under any pressure to plan a dinner and impress her so she can show off for her other married friend’s standards. I didn’t have to be disappointed with getting nothing. Had a nice steak. Watched boxing and relaxed.

Valentine's Day, movies, and social media are a joke. They are there to make people have FOMO. It's Bulls%%%. The sooner you realize that, the better. 80% of couples are not fn 'happy'. You see 20% of people's lives. It's not reality. Some married dudes might get 'lucky' on Valentines day, then have to wait a month or two for the next round 'if she feels like it'. I’m kind of looking at my friends who have to spend money, go out of their homes, deal with people, get everything just right or hear about it later (they will hear about it later regardless), and probably not have their own emotional needs met, and I think I might have the better end of this deal.

you did not actually like being forced to do shit on valentines day. get a grip. those are not "happy couples". every single dude is being held hostage and does not want to engage in valentines BS. go somewhere you like that should did not like to go. you cannot really be butthurt that you have no one to buy flowers and chocolate for.
