My wife of 40 years moved out recently to try a separation. We are both 60 and I still love her and want to grow old with her, but she just doesn’t love me anymore and wants to be on her own to find herself. She wants to remain good friends and still wants to do things with me and with our 5 grown kids and grandkids. She has no desire to find another man and I have no desire to find another wife. She doesn’t want to deal with the baggage another man would bring. I don’t want to live alone the rest of my life and I am wanting to do what I can to eventually have the chance to win her back. The alternative is to be sad and alone my remaining years.

12 years ago she had chemo treatment for breast cancer and it changed her personality somewhat and lowered her sex drive (which really hasn’t been that bad), but we get along great and usually have fun together.
Currently we keep in touch via phone and texting a few times a week, but it is funny how I am suddenly seeing ads on my Facebook that say in order to get your spouse back, you need to cut off the communication completely so that she will become curious and wonder what is happening or if you have found someone else or lost interest. They say to give her space as a first step to try to turn things around. Then the ads mention that the next step is to know exactly WHAT to say next and WHEN to say it to get her back…and that this really works to get her back! Then, of course, you have to pay for this information. Has anyone ever done this and actually had it work? I can’t imagine that there would be a magic phrase I could say to my separated wife that would flip a switch in her head to make her want to come back to me. Anyone out there know this magic phrase or have a success story regarding getting back together. My heart is broken and I am really having a hard time imagining what my future will be like without my wife.
